Islands
I have created some islands of calm and feel much better for it. Mr F's study is clean and tidy - he's currently in there on a conference call. There are still some things to clean up and return to their homes there but not too much. I've also cleaned the kitchen (well except for the floor which can wait for a bit) and am sitting at the counter looking at three new completed windows 😁 There are no blinds up as these were fixed to the windows and I think the new blinds will be fixed to the wall. I've had a quote for those and it's significantly less than I was expecting so I think I can go ahead and order those and the new curtains for the dining room.
Not looking forward to more disruption next week - particularly as the plumber is booked to put the new macerator in as well. At least most of the house should be back in order by then. Cleaning the annex and my Christmas cooking plans will have to be put aside for now. A girl can only do so much cleaning 😆
The grocery shop arrived and came in a little under budget. And I settled up with Young Decorator to date. He's going to come back and touch up the paint work around the windows once the fitters have finished so there'll be a little extra cost there.
There's no one due in the house tomorrow except for us Fortunates. So, hopefully, we'll have a quiet, uneventful day. Fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks @savingholmes - I had an email today to say they're coming back on Monday so just one more day of stress and then I can relax a bit.

A Nook of One's Own
I cleaned up the landing and upstairs corridor today and then Mr F set up my art nook for me 🥳🎉🥳 I'm so excited about it! I sorted out all my art materials in the new to me desk and pedestal and then spent an hour making Christmas presents. It was a bit of an indulgence really as there's still so much cleaning up to be done in the house but I couldn't wait.
We had pizza from the freezer for lunch and Mr F has just gone out to get a fish and chip supper 😲 We're just exhausted after all the upheaval and it won't hurt if we eat less healthily for a couple of days.
Tomorrow I'll clean the hall and put everything back in there. Might do some more crafting too 😁
Happy Friday everyone!
