Thanks guys 😊 My tomoatoes got blight this year KC 😯 but the rest of the veg did ok. Not sure the squash are going to come to anything though. They seem quite late this year.

Partied Out
We had a wonderful evening and I'm paying the price for that today 🤭 All the food and drink was provided but there was a collection for a charitable cause so we made a donation to that. Uncle F drove us there and we got a taxi home.
I'd promised Uncle F a cooked lunch today as a thank you for driving us. However, I was a bit too fragile to spend any time in the kitchen sooooo we ordered a takeaway Sunday lunch from a local hotel 😊 It was delicious and a fabulous hangover cure so well worth the money.
It's been an expensive weekend overall but one I'd gladly pay for again. It was so nice to dress up and party after all this time.
Hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday

Also glad to hear you had a great time, even if you were left feeling a little fragile. Love the idea of a takeaway roast dinner, surprisingly I can't find anyone round here who's doing them 🤔Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20174

And relax...
I'm recovering from a weekend with the Younger Fortunates. It's the first time we've all been together since March and it's been lovely. Loud, hectic and tiring though 🥱 so I'm planning an easy day today.
I've worked out the cost of the weekend which isn't as much as expected. We did two long walks with the pupsters so no cost involved there and a visit to a local attraction where we paid for the entrance fee and a light lunch as a treat for them. On Saturday evening we lit the fire pit and sat around outside chatting so, again, no cost involved. Most of our meals I'd cooked up previously using produce from the veg patch and frozen and the Youngers bought nibbles, cheeses and wine with them. There are a few leftovers too which will help pad out this week's meal plan. The biggest cost was alcohol - a lot of beers were consumed 🤭 I'd won the raffle at the WI outing last week - a huge box of veg from an Estate garden 😁 So I'm hoping a reduction in our grocery shop costs this week will help to offset some of the weekend's expense.
It's going to be an expensive week this week anyway. The electrician is coming on Wednesday to replace a broken switch and three very noisy and inefficient extractor fans. The plumber is coming that day too as it looks as though the macerator in our en-suite is dying 😲 Plus I, finally, have a dentist appointment. We'd avoided going during the pandemic and then our surgery had a big turnover of staff and now have a back log. I was going to try another surgery but it seems they're all in the same boat. I think my teeth have survived 🤔 At least none have fallen out yet 😆
We've been so lucky with the weather and today looks to be another fine day. I'm going to get a couple of loads of washing on the line to take advantage.
Uncle F has moved the majority of his stuff out of the annex now. He'll be coming back in a fortnight with a friend just for a day run to pick up a final few things and collect his car. It will be a great relief to have him safe and settled in his new home. The responsibility and emotional impact on me has been huge. For the moment, it seems that all is calm for the Fortunate family and it'll be nice to not have any big life events to worry us, hopefully, for a while.
Hope your week is off to a great start.
