Please do share any broad bean recipes Fortune! We keep getting them in our veg box & OH is the only one who eats them. Will do RT. The Broad Bean Carbonara is a good one - simple but tasty.

Dress Success!
The dresses arrived today. I've tried them all on and 4 fit and 2 of those flatter so I've chosen the one of the two which is the best colour for me. I have shoes, a cover-up and jewellery (I think) which will go with it. However I had to throw away my evening bag after I last used it as it had become horribly stained so I'll need a new one. And a new bra as the new dress requires a little up-lift 😊 The dress is in the sale too - 50% off 😁 It is a little long though so I'll have to have it taken up.
The new freezer arrived yesterday and is now happily chilling away in the barn full of this season's fruit.
I managed to get out in the veg patch to do some weeding before the rain came in and picked and processed half of the remaining broad beans for the freezer.
Money was spent today on dog food and treats and heating oil. I checked the oil tank this morning and we've got very low so I've put in an order to top us up a bit.
Lunch was Roasted Roots & Sage Soup to use up some sulky turnips. I substituted the carrots and parsnip for some sweet potatoes as that's what I had in. Supper was Courgette & Broad Bean Risotto with Basil Pesto I used shop bought pesto though.
Apparently Mr F had a poor night's sleep last night because I kept snoring 😴 After lunch he fell asleep in the arm chair. FDawg dozed off too and, as I didn't want to disturb them, I curled up on the sofa. I woke up two hours later 😲
I'm still feeling sleepy so am planning an early night.
Sleep tight everyone

Thanks Cheery - I must admit I am feeling relieved, it usually takes me ages to find something that fits and looks reasonable. Shocking dreams 😲 Did you eat cheese before bedtime 😆savingholmes said:Great news on the ball gown and all your home grown produce. We are certainly more social recently SH. Although I'm still feeling quite nervous about being out in the world.

Good Recovery
The last few days have been a bit of a wash out as I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and wasn't able to do much. We did get a curtain pole up in the guest room though which means I can start cleaning up in there and getting the furniture back to where it belongs. I can also order some new curtains 😁 We have guests for the bank holiday weekend so I need the room up and running before then.
Today I have been out in the world. I found a local dressmaker to take up my new dress so went to have a fitting with her. She lives very close to a local attraction we've been hoping to visit so I scoped out the parking for that whilst in the area. I went to the Post Office to post back the unwanted dresses and another return. Also filled up with fuel, picked up a prescription, bought some preserving items and a few grocery items which won't wait for the T£$c0 delivery. All spending was in the plan and budgeted for... except for a pork pie which I bought as a little treat for Mr F 🤭
We have mostly been eating from the freezer as Mr F had to do the cooking for a couple of days but I was back on my feet yesterday so we had Veg & Cheesy Rice Bake for supper with the leftovers for lunch today. That used up a couple of courgettes 😁 I used two of microwave rice pouches instead of the risotto rice for ease and speed.
I've done the meal plan for the week so will order the shopping this evening.
So not quite back to full productivity for a good recovery nonetheless 😁
Happy Monday all

Thanks SH. It's still a little sore but not holding me back now.greent said:I like micro rice sachets for ease - a1d1 do a nice wild and red rice one and also wholegrain and quinoa - they make a great quick salad accompaniment for lunch
Sounds yummy GT. I use the puy lentil ones too as they're super quick and easy for salads.
