Today has been...
different! I left the house for a start, in makeup and heels 😲 It felt a bit odd - I've spent the last twelve months mainly wearing slippers 😆
I had to take the car to a main dealer to be safety checked - it was huge and very swanky. They said they could do the work while I waited and, as there was hardly any one else around and their Covid procedures seemed very good, I decided to stay. It saved me from having to drive an unfamiliar courtesy car which I'd probably have had to put some fuel in. They did have to replace a part but it didn't take too long and I was home in time for a late lunch.
Lunch was Versatile Veg Soup from the freezer and tonight we had Cauliflower & Blue Cheese Macaroni with roasted tomatoes.
The grocery shop was delivered - £42.53 under budget in the end 😁 Although some of that was a single high cost item which they couldn't provide this week and will have to go onto next week's order. Savings have been moved to next month's OP amount.
Nothing else to report. The car thing took up most of the day and I'm so tired now. This living in the real world is exhausting 😆

Ha, yes I do wonder how much of a shock it's going to be when I have to go back to work, pick up shopping on the way home, go to a friend's house for tea - all in the same day!! 😮😂4

Just driving was stressful - I remembered where all the important bits were like brakes and wipers, etc but I couldn't remember where the button was to open the glove box 😆 I might have to break myself back into real life gently 😆

Hope the vaccine went well SH. Uncle F has got his booked but Mr F and I are in the next groups down so will have to wait a bit longer.

Not an MS day
I have spent a lot of money today 😲 It's mine and Mr F's birthday in a few weeks time. His is a big one 😲 We're limited in terms of celebrating but will be able to meet up with the younger Fortunates outside over Easter. So.. I bought Easter Eggs for all 😁 And Mr F and I are having big ones 😆 Managed to get 20% off the order with a promo code so that helped. I also ordered Mr F's birthday present - he wanted a special tool kit thingie 😂 So not an MS day at all and there is more spending on the cards. It's all budgeted for though. We can't do a meal out or trip away so I'm pushing the boat out where we can.
We had leftover Cauliflower & Blue Cheese Macaroni for lunch and Beetroot, Halloumi & Cashew Curry for supper. There's curry leftover for tomorrow's lunch too 😁
Nothing else to report today - thank goodness, don't want to break the bank 😆
Happy Friday everyone!

People!
I've arranged to see some friends over Easter too. Outside of course and everything being well. It's very exciting knowing we'll be seeing people face to face soon.
Mr F is now able to book a vaccine so I'm the only one left in the house to get a date. I don't think it will be long now though.
It was a cold but bright day here yesterday so we got a lot more gardening done. Mr F composted around all our fruit trees and even got the mower out in places (we're going to leave the area around the trees in the orchard for wildflowers). I 'weeded' the big flower bed. We have a problem with couch grass in that bed and I've never been able to get rid of it completely. It's now taken over! I'm not one for using chemicals in the garden and all our fruit and veg is grown organically. However, I don't think the bed is going to survive if I don't do something. Fortunately, Uncle F is qualified in this type of thing and recommended a weed killer which is safe for the environment so I painstakingly went round with a paint brush to treat the grass and make sure the weed killer didn't land on anything else. We won't see the results for a week or two but I'm really hoping it works as it will make a huge difference to the work involved.
I read the electricity meter yesterday 😲 It's double what we used in a full six month period last year and we're only 3 months into the billing period 😲 It seems Uncle F has had his electric heating on high and constant the whole time he's been here and he's away working most week days now. We've had a chat and I've introduced him to the concept of timers 😉 and how to use the thermostats and on/timer switches on the radiators to make sure he's not cold when he is at home. He's also going to pay more towards the bill. We'll keep sending a meter reading in each month to try and keep on top of things.
We had left over curry for lunch and a pea and bacon carbonara for supper which was a recipe of my own invention 😁 Very nice it was too. Particularly as we opened a bottle of red to go with it 😁 We spent the evening watching a film in front of the log burner 😁
It's wonderful to have some dry weather. I can feel my spirits lifting.
Hope you're all having a great weekend

Didn't last long though Cheery - it's blowing a hooley out there tonight 🌪 Yes, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the electricity meter from now on.
