Fortune that is such a lovely idea of dedicating a tree.

That's a lovely idea with dedicating a tree to her and think that you'll always remember her kindness each year you can harvest from it. You're not the only one who's started their Christmas shopping, in fact I just have DH to buy for and then I'm done. Have asked my parents for some new slippers for Christmas as my old ones are about 5 years old and starting to fall apart. I prefer a boot type to keep my feet all cosy due to the lack of circulation in my feet. Apparently my mother's already ordered 3 pairs and sent them back because she feels they aren't rightEmergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20176

I think you're completely right to try and do something positive with this year Fortune, and what a lovely idea to plant a tree in memory of PurpleFairy.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

doingitanyway said:One particular variety, Bardsey, is described as the rarest apple tree in the world. I'm intending to plant it in memory of @PurpleFairy26 who I heard this week had lost her fight with cancer. I didn't know Purps in real life but had 'talked' a little with her through messaging. She had done me a small act of kindness which has grown in significance now I realise that she must have been undergoing treatment at the time. I have now discovered that this was her way and many others have benefitted from her kindness. I hope the tree will be a fitting tribute to the rarest of souls.
What a vegetable bounty you have this year!
We are definitely on the same page re sheepskin slippers! I am just about to return a pair of disappointing sheepskin slippers from JL too.
I also ordered another pair from another company. I'm hoping for a good result.
I also have falling off my feet old mules.
The slippers are a real luxury and very expensive, but I also refuse to have cold feet and I justify it by saying I will be able to turn the heating down a notch or two if my feet are toasty.
I am quite proud of our efforts in the veg patch this year 😁 It was hard work but lovely to be able to eat home grown.
Even more important to be cosy this winter and indulge a little - spirits need to be raised and a little hygge goes a long way.

Thank you everybody - I just felt I wanted to do something and, within our virtual world, that's not always easy. I just need to hear back from Apple Man now. Glad I'm not alone in early Christmas shopping or sheepskin slippers - I shall take comfort in the fact that we are all brilliantly organised and have fabulous taste 😆

hi fortune the veggie growing is hard work but the rewards are so worth it. I'm not sure if we've saved much money growing our own, but the health benefits from a physical and mental point of view are priceless.
