Waterproof!
I ordered a pair of waterpoof over trousers from Amaz0n last night. They are a good brand and, at £12.45, worth a go I thought. I also ordered some araldite for Mr F so that he can make some repairs and a replacement frisby and treat toy for FDawg who has worn out his old ones. He can have those for Christmas 🎅
I managed to have my bubble bath last night but didn't get round to editing my Halloween story so will have to do that later. Got in an hour's yoga this morning after walking FDawg.
Lunch today was Onion & Goat's Cheese Tart (I just made one big one) with side salad using onions, cucumber and tomatoes from the veg patch. Supper will be Chorizo, Bean, Pepper & Butternut Squash Chilli. We harvested about 50 butternuts from the veg patch so we've got a lot to get through 😲 They are small but ripe and tasty. About two thirds were the size of a Galia melon and the remainder the size of large cooking apples. So they'll be featuring heavily in the meal plan from now on 😆
Hope your week has got off to a good start.

Waterproof the Sequel!
I had a productive day yesterday getting chores done. The last of the Tom Putt apples had started to look sulky so I cooked them all up in a Blackberry & Apple Compote and we had some with porridge for breakfast - scrummy 😋 I've saved a portion in the fridge for another breakfast this week and frozen the remaining six portions. No other cooking was required as there was leftover tart and chilli to be used up.
I've ordered a veg box for the first time in months. I think I'll have to juggle different types of boxes for a while though to avoid any extra potatoes, onions or squash. This time I went for a Medium Quick Box rather than the Large Seasonal I was ordering before. Prior to Covid I was ordering a Large British Box but that wasn't available for a while. I'm hoping to go back to it once we've worked our way through the home grown produce.
I also did the on-line grocery shop and, this time, I've come in on budget 😁 This order included some of the ingredients for my Christmas cake which I'm planning to make this weekend. I'll need to order the decoration supplies separately as T£$co don't do gold leaf sheets 😆 The design I'm going for is working out to be pretty expensive but I don't think we'll be spending very much on Christmas food this year and I want to experiment.
I sold an item on FB. I was hoping it would be collected but the lady who bought it is in Wales and unable to travel so I've agreed to post. That's if she sends the right amount of money - I'm £3.99 short at the moment. Also listed another Bay item.
My Writing Group Z00m meeting was fun and I got some really constructive feedback on my Halloween story.
The waterproof trousers were trialled on FDawg's walk this morning and have been declared a success. They are a perfect fit, light weight, breathable and do the job... and they've saved me a fortune 😁
I'm just finishing my coffee then it's yoga time.
Happy Hump Day all.

Great news about the trousers, I never used to mind wet dog walks if I was snug and warm inside my protective gear. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)5

Wasn't too elegant on the way up... or the way down come to that 😆 but it was a proper upright, held for 10 seconds, headstand.

CRx.
I've always been quite good at the inverted positions @the_cross_rabbit. Not so good with anything that requires hip flexibility though. Now I'm doing three sessions a week I am really seeing some progress.
I'm using this DVD at the moment. There are about twenty different sessions that you can mix and match. I've been starting with 'Begin Your Day Slowly' as that's a good warm up and following with one other session, either just working my way through or choosing something for shoulders or hips if I'm feeling stiff in that area. I do about an hour each time but each session is about 20 minutes and usually includes a breathing exercise to start and a relaxation exercise at the end so is a complete practice. So you can pick and choose according to how much time you have available. I found this review helpful because it lists the poses under each section. I don't think headstands are covered though - that was just something I was keen to be able to do again and I just googled 'how to work up to a headstand'. There are some relaxation and meditation sessions too if you need to de-stress.

Thanks fortune, had a good look at that DVD and is just what I'm looking for as wanting to de-stress and help with pain management rather than looking for fitness, although that is ok if it happens too.

Everyday I'm Shuffling
After yesterday's head stand high (or low? 😆) I got back into my everyday routine. There was enough Chilli left to have with a baked potato, guacamole and sour cream for lunch. Supper was Gnocchi with Courgette, Mascarpone & Spring Onions. I managed to find three baby courgettes in the veg patch but they made for a meagre portion so I added some frozen peas and they worked well. I think that will be the last of our veg patch courgettes. Mr F is pleased as he's had his fill of them now... he doesn't know that there'll be more coming in the veg box tomorrow 😂
The waterproof trousers got another try out this morning - so far so good ☔ Good job really as it's tipping it down here.
I've money shuffled this morning so all bills are paid. Some serious spending has also occurred:- wild bird food (budgeted for - not essential but Mr F likes to see the birds on the feeder whilst sitting at his desk and it's the view he sees for most of the day now)
- dog food and training treats (budgeted for)
- christmas cake decoration (paid for from the Christmas budget)
- paint sample pots, two door mats, replacement oven gloves and a pack of two replacement laundry wash bags (all needed, planned for and paid for from the Tittervating Pot)
- two Christmas presents (paid for from the Christmas budget)
- two lovely shower gels (to qualify for free delivery and free gifts but also a 'self-care' treat for me. Paid for from my personal spends)
all ordered via cash back sites and using promo codes where available.
Phew! That's more spending in one day than I've done for a long time. To be fair, I'd held off putting in the orders until month end so I could be sure I was staying within budget. I shall order more Christmas presents next week for direct delivery. I didn't dare order anything for arrival in October as that seemed far too early but I think I can get away with November.
Another afternoon of chores ahead but I do have a catch up call with a friend to look forward to this evening 😁
Right, best be off. Mr F will be asking about lunch soon.
Stay warm and dry everyone.
