Thanks for popping in @tedlewis355. Yes, hard for everyone. Really hoping there's some good news soon. We jolly well could do with some.

Lazy Rainy Saturday
Mr F had a lie in yesterday which meant we were late walking FDawg and got caught in the rain... or should I say buckets of torrential downpour 😆 My waxed jacket is waterproof but short so my jeans got soaked in the gap between my jacket and wellies. I really need a long waterproof coat so have started a virtual savings pot in my personal spends budget. Mr F does have a longer waterproof coat but it needed some repairs which I did for him in the morning so he could re-wax it. I have a few minor repairs to make on my current jacket so that Mr F can re-wax it today. He's already done our hats so we are a little more waterproof than we were.
Other than that I had a lazy day. Just a few chores. Tuna and cheese salad wraps for lunch and leftover sausage and mash for supper.
I did do some pension planning as Mr F received an update on one of his pension pots. It's down £3k at the moment 😲 I'm hoping our money purchase pots will bounce back at little once the Covid situation calms down. We don't have to take them yet so can give them time to recover. And it could be worse - a friend of mind had planned to take their pension next year and it's down £85k 😲
We played a board game with some friends last night over video call which was fun. We opened a bottle of wine from the wine rack and had some crisps and chocolates from stores. So no cost.
Many parcels arrived yesterday. The new toaster which I'd bought with the Tittervating Pot money (our old one only does one setting now - burnt 😆), Mr F's advent calender, a box of contact lenses and a couple of repacement toiletry items. All items were necessary or planned for. The next items to be funded from the Tittervating Pot are some paint tester pots and some outside door mats. We need to decorate the Cottage living room as its starting to look shabby and the door mats we inherited when we moved in are rubber backed and water collects between them and the slate doorsteps making them perpetually soggy. I've found some open weave coir ones which should let the water drain.
We didn't get an extra hour's sleep this morning as FDawg doesn't understand the concept of clocks going back 😆 I have been nudging the alarm on a bit this last week so we did get about twenty minutes extra and I'll have to nudge it forward slowly over the next couple of weeks until FDawg catches up with the rest of the country.
Another lazy day is planned today including the carving of the pumpkin 👻
Have a great Sunday all

Not so lazy after all
It's turned out to be quite a productive day:- all our winter coats have been repaired and cleaned and re-waxed where necessary
- Mr F did some strimming in the top field
- I listed one item on FB and three on the Bay
- Chorizo & Mozzarella Gnocchi Bake for lunch to use some Chorizo which was getting a bit desperate
- one pumpkin carved
- Courgette Carbonara for supper using one baby courgette and two baby marrows from the veg patch.
I asked Mr F whether he needed a long rain coat too and he said he didn't because he had some waterproof over trousers 🤔 So I'm now thinking that perhaps I need some waterproof over trousers instead of an expensive long rain coat. Will have a think.
Just having a cheeky glass of red now before popping up for a hot bubble bath. If I've got the energy afterwards, I'll do a bit of editing of my Halloween story then it's an early night as FDawg is still on British Summer Time 😆
Hope you've all had a relaxing weekend.

I think waterproof overtrousers might be more useful for you - less restrictive than a long coat if you're trying to do anything in the garden (and for stiles!).

I think your survival plan is a great idea, I've really been looking and reflecting recently on what's happening, checking in on myself and being more aware of what I need and need to do. Agree that the waterproof trousers might be a better bet - I prefer them when on long walks because it means that when the sun eventually comes out and I start overheating, I can easily take a jacket off and still keep my legs dry when walking through any tall grass or splashing through puddles (I'm just a big kid really!)

I agree regarding the over trouseurs as long as you are prepared for the constant low level noise created by the friction of the material on your legs.

I have had a pair of Craghoppers Aqua Dry waterproof trousers for years, they are pretty pricey at £75, but the advantage is that I could wear them all day even if the rain stopped, pleasant against the skin, so no need for leggings etc, and no wrestling to get in and out of moist inside and out over trousers. OH and I had 2 energetic dogs to exercise and all our holidays were taken exploring coastal paths/moors/dales/Lake District. Sadly I have lost a lot of weight through illness (slim to begin with) and they are now too big, I make do now with a pair of Rowan over trousers (charity shopped and they are pretty good, but expensive new.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. FDawg didn't even sleep through to his normal time this morning @themadvix 😡 And Mr F has just told me he has to do a video presentation at 5.30 am tomorrow 😲 I may need a nanna nap sometime 😆ruby_eskimo said:I think your survival plan is a great idea, I've really been looking and reflecting recently on what's happening, checking in on myself and being more aware of what I need and need to do. So important to do a little self-care right now I think @ruby_eskimo - we've still got a long way to go with this Covid stuff.the_cross_rabbit said:I agree regarding the over trouseurs as long as you are prepared for the constant low level noise created by the friction of the material on your legs.

No worse than the sound of my chubby thighs rubbing together I suspect @the_cross_rabbit 😆maddiemay said:I have had a pair of Craghoppers Aqua Dry waterproof trousers for years, they are pretty pricey at £75, but the advantage is that I could wear them all day even if the rain stopped, pleasant against the skin, so no need for leggings etc, and no wrestling to get in and out of moist inside and out over trousers. Ooh - I might look into a pair of those @maddiemay. Exploring coastal paths/moors/Lake District sounds blissful. We usually head towards the Welsh hills when we need an escape but obviously can't do that at the moment. The Police are stopping people at the border and turning them back 😲
