Busy Bee
Life is getting busier as lockdown lifts. I spent the morning tackling the enormous ironing pile that's resulted from the testing of my new washer and dryer 😆 And the afternoon getting the Annex ready for our first post lockdown guests. I'll need to spend the day in there tomorrow to make sure everything's shipshape and meets all the new cleaning protocols (most of which I was meeting anyway).
Plus we picked up a second booking today for the end of July 😁
I forgot to order provisions for the Annex with the T£$co shop this week so I will have to brave the supermarket for the first time since lockdown 😮 I suppose I have to go back out into the world sometime. I think I'll go early Monday morning when it's likely to be quiet and take a mask 😷
Lunch today was Spicy Courgette Pitta Pockets and supper was Gnocchi with Mushrooms & Blue Cheese.
Today's excitement involved rescuing another escaped lamb. They are finding their way out of the field next door somehow. And... trying out my new handbag. It may take a bit of getting used to but I love the look of it - more stylish and modern than the old one.
We're going to make a determined effort to go to bed on time tonight. FDawg still wakes us up early about 50% of the time and we've been drifting into later and later nights so need to catch up on some sleep.
Friday tomorrow!

That makes it sound as though Mr F doesn't do anything in the garden but he does all the strimming and mowing and hedge cutting whilst I concentrate on weeding and planting - mainly because Mr F doesn't know the difference between weeds and flowers 😂

This may not be the case at your Tesco, but my big local Tesco is fairly quiet with no outside queues after 8pm until they close at 10pm. Thankfully they don't seem to be relaxing any of their precautions.

Eek to escaped lambs fortune, hope they're not eating your veg!
Yes things do seem to be getting busier don't they? I already feel I'm being pulled in lots of directions just with being able to have visitors and see people 😂 I did do a brief bit of hoeing the other day myself but then it's all been neglected while we focused on new chickens, so I dread to think what it'll look like soon. A friend gave me some red basil yesterday so I must plant that.
Enjoy your new handbag!5 -
A Sit Down
I've been on my feet cleaning in the Annex all day. But it's all sorted now except for the tittervating I leave until the last minute 😊
Mr F and I braved the shop early this morning. We went to our lovely, local, independent supermarket. Mr F filled the car up with fuel whilst I went in and it was fine. No queues, entry through one set of doors exit through another, staff on the door directing people and ensuring sufficient space between them, glass around the checkouts, every single checkout open - they are doing a stirling job. I had to loudly clear my throat on a couple of occasions where people had stopped to chat and were blocking aisles but everyone was good natured and relaxed. The only dangerous thing that happened was I bought treats 🙄 A couple of Shropshire Blue sausage rolls and some Millionaire's Shortbread. Mr F and I ate them with a coffee when we got back and then weren't hungry at lunch time 🙄 so we delayed lunch and had it for supper - Spinach Omelette Chapati Wraps.
I'm not intending to do much this evening. Mr F is planning to visit his little gym in the barn so I'm in sole control of the remote and I intend to use it 😂
Happy Friday all
