Today I have been mainly cooking apples
12 Apple Pie Muffins
1 large Spiced Apple Cake
2 batches of Oaty Apple Crumble filling
Mr F ate 2 of the muffins and took 2 more when he left for a business meeting this evening. He said they were for the car journey home tomorrow but I am not sure they'll last that long :rotfl: I ate one and the others have been swiftly despatched to the freezer alone with all the other goodies. I'd use less apple if I made the muffins again. The recipe calls for 2 large Bramleys but I don't think they had our Bramleys in mind - some are humongous :rotfl:
I've hardly made a dent in the apple hoard so I can feel another baking day coming on tomorrow.
In between mixing and stirring I managed to list a further 3 Bay items
Lunch was the rest of yesterday's Potato & Savoy Cabbage Soup and, as it was only me at home this evening, I had a baked potato with beans and cheese for supper. I just fancied something light.
I'm so glad there's no rain forecast here tonight. The heavy rain last night woke me up several times. I still can't help worrying that the house will spring a leak although it hasn't let us down so far. It also makes me think about those poor souls who don't have a roof over their headsI'm very, very grateful for my warm, dry bed.
Sleep tight all

Also happy to test the baking :j
Excellent baking efforts, and excellent news on the refund! :money:
Hope your house doesn't spring a leak (you may have seen that our cellar is flooded but as it has a well in it that's not awfully surprising, and as long as it confines itself to the cellar I'm not too worried). But yes for being very grateful we have a roof over our heads0 -

I'm afraid the job of Baking Tester is taken... by Mr F. And a very thorough job he does too :rotfl:
We have the occasional window leak Cheery (one of next year's goals will be to start refurbishing/replacing the window frames) but we're generally dry since having the roof repaired. I hope water levels stay low for you. At least you'll have water for the garden if there's a drought in the summer.

Another day of processing apples yesterday:
- 2 bags of sliced apples in the freezer ready to make Sticky Toffee Apple Pudding
- 1 bag of apple rings in the freezer ready to make Baked Toffee & Apple Crumble
- 4 cored apples in the freezer ready to make baked apples.
We generally only eat puddings when we have guests in the house so I think we've got enough to last us the year now. I still have half a carrier bag of Bramleys and two carrier bags of eaters left. I'll take some to yoga tomorrow for lodger friend.
I received a two day booking request for the Annex yesterday for November. Very pleased as this is the first at our new price. Also a little bonus as I'm not expecting to get much in the way of bookings until next year.
More heavy rain yesterday and this morning. Our bedroom window sprung a leak. The windows do leak occasionally so I think we'll have to make fixing those a priority for next year. I hope Cheery is keeping her feet dry. The temperature is likely to drop soon so I'm bracing myself for the Autumn Fly invasion
Mr F was away all day so I just had some easy light meals from cupboard and freezer to keep me going. I've lost another two pounds :j That makes just over 9lbs in total since starting the diet officially :T
To celebrate I've spent some M&$ vouchers that were due to expire - a pair of yoga pants, a jumper for everyday wear in the winter, a multi pack of knickers and some shower gel arrived yesterday. Just some needed basics but nice to have a little splurge.
Mr F is home today and I need to pop into town to drop in some dry cleaning for him. I might take the opportunity to have a little browse around the antique shops while I'm there. Might need to pick up an Ark at this rate :rotfl:
I hope the sun shines on you a little today.

Great weight loss:)
Thanks guys - I'm finding the diet fairly easy and am pretty much eating what I usually would. Just being careful about fats and sugar. I'm starting to see the difference now and that is certainly spurring me on. My clothes fit better and I'm able to do more bendy stuff at yoga as I now have a smaller belly to get in the way :rotfl:
I'm thinking of using the extra annex money to have some fun :j
