... apples! Just a small bake today though
Yesterday I popped into the market town to put one of Mr F's suits into the dry cleaner. Whilst I was there I had a look around the antique emporium to see whether I could find any of the items on my home improvement list. No luckBut no money spent either
We had an exotic lunch as I had radicchio and figs in the latest veg box - Roasted Radicchio & Figs with Stilton & Balsamic Onions. Mr F had some garlic bread with his but I needed to save some calories so had it as it came. Supper was Marrow Gratin. This has become my favourite marrow recipe. I added a chopped red chilli, some tomato puree and extra basil to punch the flavour up a bit. Good job I like the recipe - as soon as I cook one marrow, another pops up in the veg patch :rotfl:
This morning was yoga class. My yoga clothes are fitting much better now I've lost a few pounds. And I'm able to get further into the positions with a smaller belly to accommodate :rotfl: Went for coffee with a yoga friend after then competed a couple of chores. I posted a Bay sale of Mr F's and picked up a couple of grocery items to stretch the meal plan a little further.
We had the leftover marrow gratin for lunch today and then I baked Apple & Blue Cheese Scones for supper. So that's another Bramley defeated :rotfl: I made individual scones rather than a loaf as they are easier to freeze if need be. We had a couple each with some Leek, Bacon & Potato Soup.
Someone has contacted me about an item I have for sale on FB. They are coming to have a look on Sunday. I hope it goes as it's quite bulky and taking up space in my bedroom. Plus it will mean £25 in my pocket :T
So lovely to see some sunshine today.
Happy Hump Day everybody

Hello Purp
lovely to hear from you. Actually, my days are predominantly filled with housework and chores :rotfl: I just don't mention any of that boring stuff - just the more enjoyable stuff I fit in around the day job. I always try to fit something fun into the day somewhere - otherwise I just have toilet cleaning to look forward to :rotfl:
Hope you meal planning goes well.

Thanks guys :kisses3:
It looks as though it will just be the two of us over Christmas this year so I'm thinking of using the money we would usually spend on other people to spoil ourselves.

I spent some time in the veg patch yesterday rescuing most of the remaining produce:
- the last of the cut and come again lettuce
- a butternut squash which fell from the vine in the heavy rain. It's still green but a reasonable size so I'm going to try to ripen it on the windowsill
- lots of green cherry tomatoes as I don't think there's much chance of them ripening outside now. I put them in a paper bag with a banana. The bosher sized tomatoes in one bag and the tiddler sized ones in another
Anything smaller than a tiddler has been consigned to the compost heap
- a single yellow courgette. It may be the last or there may be just one more to come.
I had the lettuce and some ripe tomatoes in a salad for lunch and a portion of the remaining Leek, Potato & Bacon Soup for supper with a couple of the Stilton & Apple Scones.
It was our regular girls' night out last night. We'd delayed our September meet up to take advantage of a book signing which is why the dates have ended up so close together. My neighbour drove so I had a couple of glasses of ProseccoWe put some more dates in the diary for the rest of the year so more to look forward to
I've put the heating on  It felt so cold yesterday and it's taking ages to dry towels and washing. We had a room thermostat fitted last year so that will help make sure it only comes on when needed. I've booked a date for the boiler service.
I'd usually have had my flu jab by now but my surgery doesn't have supplies yet  They think they may have some in by end of October  Apparently there is a national shortage of the under 65 vaccine. I checked with Boots this week and they are receiving a limited amount of vaccine each week so I've booked Mr F and I in for a shot on Monday morning. Hopefully I'll still be able to get mine free.
Have a great Friday all

We had a day out today and took FDawg to Talacre beach. When we arrived he got very excited - I think he remembered his first trip. It was less busy this time with only a few other dogs about so we let him off the lead. He ran and ran and ran all day and even had a splash in a big puddle, unusual for him as he doesn't like to get his feet wet :rotfl:
I collected lots of shells this trip. I have a plan to decorate something with them. I hope it turns out to be a better idea than the last one I had. I collected the seed heads from the aliums in my garden last month thinking I would put the seeds into little hand-painted envelopes to enclose with Christmas cards. It took me hours to de-seed them
We stopped for fish and chips in the pub. I was apprehensive about going there again as we didn't have a great experience last time. However, the meal was good and hot and we really enjoyed it. The cost will come from this month's fun money.
We came home just as the rain started and took the scenic route through the Horseshoe Pass. Beautiful even through the grey of the drizzle.
Supper was Mushroom Stroganoff and we are now snuggled up in front of the log burner watching Laur£1 & H@rdy.
It's been a lovely day
