For anyone that is interested I received an email from Barclaycard today, offering me a free bPay fob or wristband :T

It is currently only for customers who have received the email, but on the 21st July the email states the offer will be open to to all customers.

*This offer is open to recipients of this email immediately, and then to all customers on 21 July 2017. Offer ends 28 July 2017. And once the freebies are gone, they’re gone.

I assume all customers can claim the freebie on their website from the 21st July.

Some more info: https://www.bpay.co.uk/

Good luck getting your freebie!

I've just read the email I received about this.

A fob would have been nice, but all the free ones have gone.

I wouldn't pay anything for one, let alone the £17.99 price they're asking.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the benefit of one of these over a regular contactless card ?

Not much. Certainly not enough to pay for.

I've forgotten to take my cards and keys with me when I go out. I've never forgotten to take my mobile phone, which I can make contactless payments.

Damn, they must of been snapped up quick. I agree they are not worth buying.

I got one of the fobs and am expecting it to be really useful for me, as I can put it on my scooter keys. No more having to take off my gloves and hunt for my card at the petrol station!... until I get the damn security check which tells me to enter my card and pin, then I will be !!!!!!ed :D

I ordered my fob yesterday, sounds like I was right to be quick. I had a look at the stuff online about it. You have to register and download the app, then you have to pre-load the fob from a card (presumably your barclaycard). I think the whole system is run by a third party, and Barclays just see it as a way for you to use their card rather than a competitors.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I received the email yesterday and briefly considered it. I have all my other credit and debit cards on Android Pay. I find that very useful and pay for just about everything on the phone. I’m aware that I can load my Barclaycard and my Barclays debit card onto the phone but I’m not willing to change my NFC settings every time I want to use one of them so thought this might be a way round that (admittedly minor!) issue. Having looked at the bPay product more closely, I decided it wasn’t for me; I was mainly put off by the pre-loading aspect, rightly or wrongly. I’ll continue to carry the Barclays cards in my wallet.

Is there a direct link to the offer as I see from the original post it is available to all from today ? - I would be interested in seeing more about it ?

    Thanks in advance

They've all gone long ago. I got the email, delayed looking then saw on here that the fobs were gone. I had a look and wristbands had gone as well.

I'm happy to carry cards, my phone doesn't have nfc.

Then why not pass it on to someone who will?
