So now you have the post and a precis of the post. How did that happen? Not your lucky day after all.

Pulls cover over cage and disappears.

Given that I'm not feeling my.... brightest this morning, I read both and thought it was me :o One day Zumba will get easier... but not if my instructor has anything to do with it.

Nursemaggie, you'd probably handle summer here better than me, I love autumn and spring here, but winter is fine too.

Mardatha, I hope that trauma clinic can give some good advice. I love the sound of pink hair though.

I'm glad I didn't go to a same sex school, I only had one female friend, the rest were boys!

Pollyanna, I think it was you that mentioned my charity shop shirt.... unfortunately I now need to alter it smaller :o I'm out of the clothes I got a while ago, and into size 10 and "small" :D Other than my thighs, which resemble a miniature russian shot putters in musculature :p

NM I'm sure that you are entitled to compensation if your meter engineer did not turn up. In one place I lived last year I was changing from pre pay meters to dd ones. Three times they did not turn up. Three times I was paid £30 for each missed appointment. More fool them.

It isn't bright pinky pink, it's very subtle pale baby pink. I can't sleep so got up to take yet more painkillers, bet I won't be able to find my own head in the morning.
Which won't really make much difference anyway..

DD has just received £30 compensation as an engineer failed to turn up. She now has to find a bank that's open when she's not working so she can pay in the cheque!

    Morning all.

Oh the relief, I can breathe today. If only summer could consist of days at this temperature . At least in the bubble I inhabit.

I am writing this in ' Edit' and will probably continue to do so. It takes me so long to tap out a post one letter at a time, keep my eye on what mischief tablet is up to and think about what I am actually writing that when I finally get to press 'post' I am worn out. To then be greeted by that wretched little Dragon, or whatever it is, thumbing its nose and saying triumphantly, " You are offline," is enough to make a saint spit.

Mar, I do hope that something happens soon to make things more comfortable for you.

Nursemaggie, you get on to that business of claiming compensation If the tables were turned and they were waiting for you, and you didn't turn up, there would consequences, you bet.

Softstuff, you may have had only one female friend at school, but you have a whole posse of them on here and you seem to be coping.

A little light housework this morning and probably another effort to part with some of my precious books.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Start by doing what is necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.

Just poking my head around the fence to wish good luck to all the RAF peeps taking part in the 100th Anniversary parade today - including my son-in-law-in-training! Thank goodness the sky is cloudy.

My DD went to an all-girls school - she is now a 'strong, independent woman'. My work here is done......

Everything will be alright in the end - and if it's not alright, it's not the end ........

Lovely, not so hot this morning :):):)

We have 3 girls' secondary schools locally, and 2 of them have male head teachers :( The Catholic one has a female Head.

nm GGGRR at the engineer not turning up! Do ask for compensation!

We had a water meter fitted last year but haven't asked for it to be turned on as yet, so the water company are meant to send out comparison letters at certain intervals to show how much we could be saving (or not) if the meter was turned on. We had one after 6 months, then we had a letter from them last week apologising that they haven't sent us another one yet as they have't been able to read the meter. Short of appropriate staff, I suppose.

mar I hope you were able to get some sleep x

Lilli I'm looking forward to watching the flypast! I hope the cloud won't be a problem.

I have come to the conclusion that having an allotment is no good for a menu planning control freak. I mean I had to incorporate turnip last night, which was fine as I just roasted it with the veg but, my mind wasn't happy :rotfl:

And breathe! The pollen is finally low thanks to cloud cover and dwindling grass pollen levels.

My shopping budget is just not covering our needs now. I either have to apportion more to it or try to claw it back someway. I have decided to have a good look at our needs and try to make more in the way of changes. I am concerned I have to say but we are quite well off compared to a few years ago and we do have choice that isn't basic. I can make changes I just have some health limitations now that need different eating. I mean shoving a load of lentils in to eak out mince is nee good for a windy colon :rotfl:

Fuddle is that because of increasing demand or different needs?
