The most likely cause of mine is stress, but best to just rule out anything else. I've also cut out caffeine (well, I still have decaf and chocolate, but no proper coffee/tea) and also cut out the minimal alcohol I drink, but this also coincided with term coming to an end so it isn't very scientific.
Still, if you're all still standing (or refusing to kneel without a plan for getting up) then I guess I'll survive.
Gloriously sunny today, but quite windy. I was a bit too warm in jumper and unzipped coat walking home, but not warm enough to take off either. The monitor has been dropped off for good now and these second electrodes don't seem to have caused a reaction at all.
I'd better get back to work now. I want to spend a bit of time planning nice things for the bank holiday and contemplating where to put the lemon tree--it is being delivered tomorrow
I'm not hypermobile, although I have to admit to not knowing what that is. Dr on phone consult yesterday said not to have caffeine, chocolate, cheese or alcohol, none of which I have anyway. Not on any medication, so I'm a right oddity - lol
I have a lemon tree, still in the conservatory, Monty Don, on GW the other week said they can go out. so I put it in a sheltered spot in the garden, bur brought it back in on sunday as too cold and windy.
it's got 3 large lemons on and a few smaller onesMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Don't ever think yourselves older than you are and give that due consideration too because just because the years read a certain number it doesn't actually mean you have to agree with them as a matter of course. You know how old we are and nothing has fallen off or stopped working yet, our collective knees suffer after a bout with the Grandpickles because of the up and down to play but we still do everything we always have, we garden all the plots, we walk other folks dogs, we wrangle grandchildren on demand, we stay as active as possible, walk and swim regularly, eat home produced and cooked meals and eat sensibly to keep the weight we lost last year off for good and generally have a good and enjoyable life. We both have manageable health issues and are on regular meds but don't let that stop us being us. Life is for living with as much zest as you can summon no matter what the numbers on the birthday cards say!!! xxx.0

DNiece is severely hypermobile along with another life-impacting condition. She has heart problems, as well as the "delights" of regular dislocations of most joints.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I quite agree Lyn, though I have to say that at only 64 my knees are unco-operative to the extent that I can't kneel down at all, and look at awe at people far older than me cheerfully kneeling in church! Perhaps its to do with the hypermobilty, though mine is nothing like your poor niece's, Floss
spirit At its most basic, it means you are more "bendy" than you should be. For example, in my case, if I straighten my knees or fingers, they actually bend backwards slightly. But some, like Floss's niece, are much worse and have frequent problems with joints dislocating, as well as other things added in to the mix.
I did have a dislocated knee once, years ago, when a child stumbled and bumped into my knee! I was only about 16 and didn't really realise what had happened, only that my kneecap wasn't where it should be and it hurt a lot. Thankfully I managed to get it back into place, though it was stiff for ages afterwards.
monnagran Glad to hear you're all right and had a happy time with your friend :T0 -
Art'noon all - sorry for those having issues. I get palpitations when I eat MSG (amongst other things)
My first week of diet went superbly - out three days in a row and no alcohol. No (little, as in a tiny drop of milk in coffee one day) dairy, no grain, no sugar, no legumes. i just can't do a proper whole 30 - it would interfere, not just with my lifestyle but other people's, too much so i have cut these things out and combined with the 5:2. First week i've lost 4lb:T and inches all over, so I am happy with that.
The dairy is the hardest to give up - which, at least, means i am not an alcoholic :rotfl::beer:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Horrible wild wet cold day up here, after such a nice morning too. Feels like a November night here. Starting to give up hope of any warmth!!0

Aw, Mar, that's rotten. I really hope it improves extremely soon!0

Mardatha, do jelly babies freeze? Best eat them quick just in case.
Vjsmum, well done on the 4lbs and many inches! I think though, if it were me, you'd have to pry the cheese out of my cold dead hands. No way was I giving up dairy, especially since we discovered that despite hubby being lactose intolerant, he can eat 24 month old parmesan and jarlsberg (apparently there's also a vintage cheddar in the uk, but we're not there so...). I have given up milk and instead put a teaspoon of cream in my coffee. Oh, and I still have alcohol, just not wine or beer (neither appear to like me any more).
Ivyleaf, my fingers and knees bend a fair bit backwards, but I never heard mention of hypermobility for me. Curious now. I did dislocate my shoulder very easily many years ago. And a toe, not as many years ago.
Spirit, my lemon tree is attempting to dig itself out and move to your house, it thinks it will be better tended there.
My week with 2 workdays (and next week with none), has now turned into 5 workdays this week and who knows next. That'll help with the next batch of paint buying. And I'm beginning to get curious about joining a gym for the weight machines. I want Michelle Obama arms. Not actually her arms, that'd be creepy, but I'd like mine to look like hers. Already my bingo wings are no longer ready to fly, but the whole region needs work.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
DD1 was really cross with me when I referred to my bingo wings. She said "How dare you talk about yourself as if you were some horrible fat old woman who sits playing bingo all day!"
But of course most of us do get them as we get older, fat or not.0 -
Just wear sleeves lol0
