Silva if the procedure begins with 'a' my mother-in-law has had one. She too was really worried about it and wished she hadn't read the literature but she said that the thought of what it's going to feel like is worse than the procedure. In reality it wasn't as bad as what she had built it up to be. I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday. x0

Hi Fencers
I haven't posted for a while as I am struggling to find anything to say other than life continuing to kick me whilst I'm down.
No good news regarding my job, my hair is literally falling out in handfuls and has got so thin and grey. I actually went to get a trim today (first time in 6 months) as it was a frizzy haystack of split ends.
The hairdresser said it is probably down to stress...I couldn't dispute that!
I am failing to sleep more that 3 or 4 hours a night and when I do sleep I wake in the early hours soaked in sweat and can't get off to sleep again. I'm reading rather than putting my laptop on and am averaging reading a book in 2 days/nights at the moment.
I'm piling on weight I'm sure due to lack of sleep..oh what I wouldn't do to sleep a straight 7 hours!
So I'm sorry Fencers, the above is why I haven't posted..I just have nothing positive to say and I hate just being all about being down.
What I would really like, along with some sleep and a worry free month or two, is a proper hug and someone here to support me..I am just so tired of fighting on alone
Sorry.
Love to you all and I hope you are all ok :A
Take care all xx'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
karcher those symptoms sound like thyroid, maybe get that checked - and don't just accept them saying it's"fine". Get the numbers and google them.0

Oh Karcher - so sorry you are feeling so low. It's so hard when you can't seem to take one step forward. Can only send you a virtual hug and healing vibes xxSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Evening all,
Karcher I so wish I could give you a hug in person. I agree with Mar, that does sound like it may be a thyroid issue. Thyroid issues and stress issues are often confused for each other. It is treatable and if that is what it is, it will make life seem much easier with the right medication.
Nursemaggie--I'm so glad there is some positive news. I know there is still a long journey to come but at least it feels like something is setting off!
I got my invite for the monitor today. I'm supposed to have it for six days. I had no idea it would be for so long.
Hugs to all who need them.0 -
Hugs Karcher, didn!!!8217;t want to read and run. You!!!8217;ve actually inspired me to switch off the PC and I!!!8217;m going to read a book instead. I hope you sleep better tonight.Spend less now, work less later.0

Softstuff, well done on the very positive actions and the weight loss!! :T
NM, great news about DS. Fingers crossed that your turn comes very soon.
Karcher, I soooo want to give you a real hug, a great big smoother of a hug. I agree that your symptoms sounds very like thyroid problem and this can be brought on by stress (friend suffered the same after major stress, got meds, is great now!). Please, please go to docs and tell all. If not thyroid, Doc still needs to know the other issues and may well be able to help. Promise me you will make an appointment asap?
I have just written a card to the family of the kind man who recently left me a small bequest. It took me ages to work out what to say because, of course, i cannot thank the donor. Eventually I realised that as well as speaking about the lovely gent in question, what I could say was that it is an honour to have been mentioned in a Will. That's how I feel. The money is very nice but really the thought that went with it is by far the best thing.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Karcher I agree especially about your hair that is just what happens with an under active thyroid as does the weight gain and everything else. You may even feel better about work with treatment.
I would give you a big hug if I knew where you were but it your not within a couple of hours I can only give you a virtual one you may have as many as you would like of them.
Can anyone tell me is there an internet map system other than Google because I can't find the building the council have nominated me for. All Google gives me is either Kent Street or it puts in in a car park at the back of some buildings all with no windows and no way of getting out of this car park. It has no access roads??? Maybe that is why it is empty.0 -
Karcher - if work is causing you all this stress is there any way you can find the energy to look for an alternative? It sounds as if it would be worth it, but I know that when things are really tough it can be difficult to work out an exit plan.0
