I'll help with the gin disposal Cranky.
Mehefin et al, I'm here and working on a smutty response but it's a bit early.
Don't go Karcher, I'm with you on that. My DD who has 3 jobs 4 kids and a husband with a long-term illness gets nothing my ex who is in good health claims a massive amount of some benefit or other.
It's raining here after 2 days of sunshine, we have to move the boat today to get water.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
mehefin I think it's essential to cover ones shaft.....
The auction sounds fun, but I would go mad and buy stuff I didn't need
I made it to our main town, and got back before dark£200 lighter for my trouble - new specs needed
I have to go back though, they found a 'thingy' at the back of my left eye, nice lady told me not to worry Hmmm, brain is going from it's nothing, to (at 3am this morning) OMG it's brain cancer  rational brain will go with, it's nothing till it's something

Another Gin buddy here but people seem to think I drink a lot of it so I have lots of bottles unopened! I don't really like drinking on my own, although I did have one last night!
I love auctions but stopped going as I had a house full of 'stuff'. May go again sometime but just sit on my hands.0 -
Don't panic Islandmaid, I had a thingy too... then went back and aforementioned thingy was nowhere to be found. And hasn't been found subsequently. Hubby has thingys too, they keep an eye on changes is all, and see if the thingys get bigger or change.
And if Hester can't make something of that, she's not awake at all.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
mehefin, like Hester I am also working on a smutty response, but being hampered by an innocent and unsullied mind, I'll leave it to those more worldly wise characters.
Islandmaid, I understand your night-time imagination working overtime, but with a bit of luck and a following wind it may turn out to be a blip. I recall, (who groaned?) when my DB was recovering from testicular cancer and having tegular MRI scans he was told that if this particular scan was clear he would only need to come in every 6 months. With that he was inserted into the machine and after only a couple of minutes he was hastily brought out again, just in time to hear someone say, "There's something very wrong here."
He spent the next 5 minutes choking back the tears and mentally organising his funeral.
It turned out that the machine had developed a fault.
Today looks like being a gloomy one, so when I have done the trot up to the village shop for essential supplies I'll spend the rest of the day knocking off a pile of ironing and going through some paperwork.

I have a birthmark at the back of my eye, have known about it for years. I went for my annual test and optometrist insisted on sending me to see the specialist, he was furious she had wasted time and money sending me to see him when we both knew about it. He was not a happy chappie. Thankfully they now have a new optometrist, I hope she looks back at my records before she tells me I have a birthmark at the back of my eye!!0

You and me both but the specialist that I was sent to last month was very nice about it. She said the trouble is the high street opticians are getting all these fancy new high powered gadgets but they then aren't equipped to deal with their findings. Apparently I have more chance of winning the lottery than having trouble from what is lurking at the back of my left eye.0 -
LW, how come you have to buy your own battery? Don't you come under the motability scheme? If not, you should do. I know some one who is supposed to have arthritis and she gets a new car (and I mean a NEW car) every 3 years. Everything is taken care of, servicing, tax, insurance, all she has to do is put fuel in it. If anything goes wrong it is whisked off into the garage and she is given a courtesy car. And she has this for LIFE, no medical checks or anything, and she doesn't even need a stick to walk with. You seem to be much more in need of this sort of help. At the very least you shouldn't have to buy your own batteries. I am appalled.
The reason I'm skint is that the last 6 months' PIP was all used up on my new hearing aids. I have gone for rechargeable ones, which are more expensive, but no more having the battery give out at the least convenient times - I was getting to the stage that every time the battery warning went off, I'd find myself feeling really angry, even if I was only at home, which is not good for my stress levels, so I feel it's a good purchase.mehefin, like Hester I am also working on a smutty response, but being hampered by an innocent and unsullied mind, I'll leave it to those more worldly wise characters. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm dying of terminal boredom up here. Cabin fever +++. So bored that I cleaned the cooker. *SCARY*0
