NM you never need to apologise here . I don't know how you keep plodding on from day to day under trying circumstances and don't even have peace in your present home situation . Good luck today there has to be light at the end of the tunnel .

Over here on the Lancashire coast the snow has finally gone and it's raining steadily . Wrap up warm , I understand what a problem public transport is when you no longer drive . Know each one of us is holding you in our hearts and thoughts today as always .

I hope that the house is the one NM and it's meant to be. Please., Pretty please?

A very belated well done to you and your dd Fuds . I hope she thrives happily now she's moved school .
I did laugh at the list that wasn't really needed . I had a huge bullet list for the important make or break appt . I'd slaved over it in a sea of paperwork and was slightly miffed the Psychiatrist diagnosed dd at the start of the meeting .
As for Mr Pea Shoot and his friend it's a bit before your time but learn the words of I am Woman by Helen Reddy . Mutter it or sing it in your head . If he pushes too far sing it loud with emphasis on " Hear me Roar " I'm sure singing isn't banned on allotments yet . Depending on your singing skills it may shut them up for good if like me you're of the cinder under the door school of music .

Well that was a waste of money. £16 in taxis to look at the wrong house. I knew it was the wrong one when the first taxi pulled up outside. It was only tiny and for sale. It was on the right road Plodder Lane but it is a over two miles long. I did think the number was a bit small

Can't phone the estate agents. They are closed on a Sunday. The people who owned the house were very nice about it and offered us a cup of tea.

Floss I don't like giving my exact location for dds privacy so I shall say a bit further up .
Did you see Tony Walsh safety harnessed to the top of your tower over the festive season ? BBC NW filmed him and it was a link on the evening news each day .
I still google Tony Walsh oop 'ere and have another watch . I always get a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye . He's a poet for our times and I love that he nods back to our history both in the arena poem and this one .

NM an aunt used that expression when I was a child . I thought it quite nice until I grew older ! I did however sing in choirs including at the opening of the Metropolitan Cathedral aka Paddys Wigwam so maybe she was tone deaf !
I did notice my children always begged for stories and poems rather than lullabies at bedtime . Short of going on one of those tv shows and letting you all judge for yourselves I'll never know .

What a waste of a journey . If the information was supplied by the agent they should make good your taxi fares . Thank goodness for people who will offer tea to strangers . A bit of light and goodness .

Oh Polly, my grandad used that expression ' a voice like a cinder under the door'.
He also had a description of very talkative people - apparently I was vaccinated with a gramaphone needle :rotfl:

NM, my mum has to rely on hosp transport, and on some ocassions volunteers. She takes her mobile phone and whoever is picking her up just rings when they get there or she rings to say she is ready. Taxis will do the same these days, even telling you the vehicle registraion number. It is a long and tiring day whichever transport one relies on and you have my sympathy. It's bad enough being so poorly without the extra burden.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Ivy I'm the same after baking, or after doing anything. Floored until I have a 20 minute sit.
We've had heavy snow again today and are still blocked in to all but 4x4s or tractors. Sainsbugs are bringing me my groceries but we have to go down to the main road and meet him at the bus stop, then lug the stuff back up the hill. Worth it for my sweeties!!
