Ivy I'm the same after baking, or after doing anything. Floored until I have a 20 minute sit.
We've had heavy snow again today and are still blocked in to all but 4x4s or tractors. Sainsbugs are bringing me my groceries but we have to go down to the main road and meet him at the bus stop, then lug the stuff back up the hill. Worth it for my sweeties!!

I have a mental image of a tonne of jelly babies on a sled :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Take care mar if you're accompanying the RV . Neither of you have been well . At times like this a beloved cat can't lend a helping paw so maybe you need a couple of huskies in reserve . It would keep the RV out of the way for days building a getting up and down the hill sled .
Have you eaten all the scones ? Fingers crossed everything will be in the order .

MMF As one who was " vaccinated with a gramaphone needle " too I have wondered over the years where these sayings originated .
Google hasn't helped . I've wondered if they were confined to the North or either Irish or Celtic . All my grandparents were Irish . I think they were of a certain era , they were common in the 50s when I was a child . Frustrating not to know .

NM I'm cross. I know I should be nice about people being human and making mistakes etc etc but I don't want to be. :(

Polly you have been missed :D

Silva how are you doing :( are you tired?

Can I ask if the tiredness on beta blockers stay and something I will have to get used to or does it get better as the body adapts? I'm on a miniscule dose and if ECG says it's ok on Thursday I up it. I'm not doing too good to the point of ordering jar sauces for meals next week and that is something that irritates my
very core! Thank goodness that school walk is over with. I'm doing a lot of mental work with myself. I may not be the same again. I'm not wallowing. I'm.relieved to be getting help it's just got into my head abit.

Hello all, long time no see !
We are still struggling here in S.E. Wales with the aftermath of the snow. Still no deliveries to the supermarkets and mayhem on the roads by all accounts. We have had our road ploughed 3 times, but there's still only room for one car and no passing places :(. However the sun has come out so it seems a thaw is underway.
I hope everyone is safe and well and that Mar has her shopping delivered. I've even had to break out the emergency wine gums ;).
Hester enjoy your milk. You'd probably get mugged for that here .
MMF007 could we have a trip in something bigger than a gondola, I'm not a very good swimmer at the best of times :rotfl:
NM I'm just going to send you a great big hug. I don't think I could cope with half as much as you.
Monna how do you get your scones to rise, every time I try they turn out like a hockey puck . You could sole your shoes with them because they're that hard :rotfl:.
Anyone heard from Karcher lately ?
    Take care, hugs to all
    nan xx

I do like this thread, everyone here does their very best to help and give the best advice they can. Lovely.

I've been out! After yesterday's efforts to clear the road I got to Asda! Many empty shelves there, no bread but I don't eat it anyway, not many veggies or fruit but no-one will starve.

DD and I went for lunch, seems strange to be out and about again, a new found freedom although I do wish the snow would stop falling.

I was on the TV yesterday, a news crew came to see our community efforts to clear the road.

fuddle I have never been on beta blockers thank God but I came near. After I had my operation I kept getting a racing heartbeat which sent the alarms going and all the nurses kept coming running. They did lots of tests and found something that is not a risk to the heart my blood pressure goes down when I stand up, and up when I lie down.

When I first got my trigeminal neuralgia. I was put on some tablets that really made me sleepy. I had a tiny dose about 10 mg. I fell asleep while calling bingo. I had to keep adding another 10 mg every few days. By the time I got to the dose I needed to get rid of the pain I needed 1600 mg a day and I did not sleepy at all. I took it for 25 years. Your body just gets used to it and stops you going to sleep in inappropriate places at least until I started with the sleep apnea.

I am sure you will get used to it and not keep dozing off.

nannywindow You need to handle the dough very gently with scones try not rolling them out and just pat it until it is the size you want. If you keep on re-rolling it like pastry it will be heavy.

Nurse Maggie, sorry if I upset you but when you said hospital transport I did think you meant NHS as Fuddle said.

I was thinking about RVS, CVS, Red Cross and Good Neighbours.

Age UK offer a home help service but I'm not sure of the current prices.

I hope you get a suitable house soon :)

Off to Wythenshawe hospital myself on Tuesday for more surgery- got to be there for 7.15am
Not dim ;) .....just living in soft focus :p
