I had a Tom and Barbara moment last night, Dragged myself to bed in the middle of a bad flare with every joint, muscle and bone swollen and very pianful. Couldn't lie down, sit up or walk.I'd finished the 3 days only Cocodamol the night before so couldn't take that though it's pretty good at bringing down flares. No paracetamol as there wasn't any left and it's not really effective during flares.Near dawn I remembered Paracetamol with Caffeine somthing I noticed in the Coop near the start of the Pandemic. It said effective pain relief on the pack which seemed good. It worked most of the time and meant I could take that instead of Cocodamol most of the time.I always picked up two packs so built up a stock of in date packs. It was much later I read the leaflet warning about avoiding food and drink containing Caffeine thinking of my Tea, Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate I was very careful and cut back;I gave in when dawn was breaking and took two. Went out like a light a while later and woke up later in the middle of a strange dream. Didn't think I'd slept the day away as I had last timeand had misread the 24 hour laptop clock.I had been going round all the shops looking for a hamster. Nor an ordinary hamster but one in a tin and was quite miffed I'd woken up before finding one.So after talking about your dds Arnie watching hamster and being a prepper always trying to plan ahead it was very Tom and Barbera.I wonder if other people are having those moments. Sometimes I think we're losing the plot.Glad you had the foresight to look at the book properly. Took me a while to realise my mistale.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Where is everyone?
I've seen a few folks on other threads, but wondering if everyone is ok.
I'm crocheting items for a Jesse Tree. It's a bit like an advent calendar with items from through the Bible, like: a rainbow, a scarlet cord, the tablets of stone for the 10 commandments etc. You hang one each day and read the relevant portion. I thought if I started now I might get it done by the time I need it!2025 Fashion on the ration

I'm here but not been keeping up with forums. I'm knitting boot slippers - using up all my odds & sods of wool in useful things that will help me not freeze to death this coming winter.
Next on the list is a wee blanket thing for my legs and feet - I'm not fond of millions of throws etc lying around but at the same time I want to use up all the odd bits of nice wool I have. And Beeglie might like them

They look lovely and warm. 😊2025 Fashion on the ration

It's a dead simple pattern, and you can use 2 strands of DK or 4 strands of 4ply, or as I'm doing, one strand of aran with one strand of 4 ply. If that makes sense! lol

Yes it does make sense. I looked at the pattern and it's a good way to use up left over yarn so long as it adds up to 16 ply. I'm thinking along the lines of having some yarn and a crochet hook in my bag to make granny squares when I have a few minutes spare. I have loads of odd balls from different projects over the years and it seems criminal not to use them up. I've just bought some children's play mat squares to use as blocking boards. I have all my Grandma's old dpns to stick in them!2025 Fashion on the ration

I think Ming might prefer a nice cornflower blue ... (I think I have some, and some cream - maybe we could do beach-hut colours)8
