Can I have that promise on paper signed and sealed?Meanwhile I must have been very tired recently.I. been convinced today is Saturday. Usually shop on Fridays not Momday, It was only when I heard the bin lorry I realised today is Tuesday. Having mentiomed the Liverpoolv v Atletic Madrid match at AnfieldI/ve only just remembered Man U are playing Atletico Madrid at Old Trafforf as I type, A double whammy as we get the fallout from the Manchester region too.If I could go back to the 70s I'd have been better buying a home in a little Hamlet rather than a tourist hotspot but had no idea what the future would hold then. I doubt any of us did.pollyx

Polly, these were made with dk yarn and 3.25mm needles for a child. They measure 6.5cm across the fingers, but they do stretch wider.
The pattern says aran wool with bigger needles for adult sizes, but I wanted smaller ones.2025 Fashion on the ration

The pattern says aran wool with bigger needles for adult sizes, but I wanted smaller ones. They are lovely and I love the little owls eyes.Youngest got a lot of my chunky and super chunky yarns as she finds they knit up quickly on big needles but does have some DK . I'll have a go at the childrens ones for those little refugees , something just for you given with love can help in a strange land far from home. We always try to find something for the children living in hard times wrapped up for Christmas just for them.eSome knitting may help my hands loosen up a bit. I had to edit my previous post 3 times due to all the typos.ManU are out of the cup Just heard the result on the news having decided not to follow the last bit.Yougests go in to the kichen and they'll score didn't work this time. They need the interim manager after Ole left but he's adamant he wont come back. He helped bring the trophies as a player and his health isn't good and I don't blame him; Maybe they should bring "Never give up" Fergie back on the touchline in a waterproof recliner. He'd soon whip them back in to shape. Born and honed in Govan he is not a walkover and would make them earn every penny of their eye watering pay, pollyx

I slept! In fact I finally dragged myself to bed at midinight. Hot chocolate two hot water bottles and went out like a light, I've just woken up. curtains still closed downstairs and brought this mornings milk in off the doorstep. My mum would be horrified at something so shameful that was akin to dirty net curtains in her book.I must have been really tired yesterdaywhere on earth did I get the Poor thread from. I meant the Poor health thread.Oh hang on I've just glanced at the time on the laptop 06.40. That's what happens when your milkman delivers at the crack of dawn and it's not quite light when you bring the milk in. nearly seven hours sleep is better than it's been though. I did think it was quiet was quiet on here.i was about to email youngest to see how she got on at the dentist today, She had a teatime appt got confued and turned up there yesterday a day early and emailed me on her way home very annoyed with herself for the mistake. Her dentist is in town soshe's always anxious going there town is out of her comfort zone since the pandemic. So I haven't shamed myself in front of the neighbours, In my childhood people would judge others by dirty nets , milk still on the doorstep long after the milkman had delivered and all sorts of things. A bit like Cissie and Ada arms folded gossiping about the neighbours.I bought dd a midyear diary last year like the ones I've always used to keep track of appts. With her on two weekly appts with our GP he would always book in the next appt in two weeks time as the printer near his desk was spitting out all the prescriptions. I would put the next appt in the diary as we sat putting the world to rights; Hospital appts and others would go straight in the diary and the next appts there too. There were so many different ones it was the best way to keep track of things.I suspect that diary is not being used. She seems to put things into her phone and has possibly either forgotten to do so or got confused and entered the wrong day or date. She;s been trying to track when her meds are due but has had to ask me a few times . Rather than me collecting them from town the pharmacy are now delivering them to her and because she;s ECV and has been with them since childhood they aren't charging for delivery. They also deliver to the care home next door and the Pharmacy manager put her on the care home list although she isn't in a care home. There were lots of hard to get meds then due to supply shortages. More recently inhalers since the pandemic and it's ensured she was never without any of the 19 meds. It's a lot less hassle for me too. I spent years in the pharmacy pointing out various meds weren't in the bag which is how the pharmacy manager got involved when I demanded to speak to her and she came downstairs gave the staff an earful and put her on care priority. There are a minimum of 19 meds each month sometimes more. Antibiotics , Oral or injectible steroids and other things from time to time. Our dear burtha has been a great help. They started putting things in tiny bage last year and missing things out and I'd have to go back try to sort things out Twice she never got some as they argued she'd had them all although she hadn't . Burtha explained those tiny bags and I had to get whoever served me to check every med and code on the bags in front of me to ensure they were all there. Not ideal in a busy pharmacy with some meds people would kill for. Thankfully the tiny bags disappeared. DD is the one who has to check them now when they arrive she's been up and down moodwise and I have wondered if they all were there but I have to trust they were.On the subject of diaries I ordered my next mid year diary last week. August 22- Agust 23 last week. I've always bought the A5 one which has a lot of space .for notes ,reminders etc and fits easily in my bag stupidly I didn't order the A5 because I wasn't too keen on the cover.Stupidly I thought as A4 was much bigger than the usual A5 A6 would just be slightly smaller than A5. The next day the postman put it through the letterbox with the post. It has to be the tiniest dairy ever. I should have googled to check A6 before ordering. It's different but the layout inside is different to the A5 ones. Doesn;t have two identical pages for each day for all the things I use it for, I've been tracking when I've been out and where which was handy when dd and bf had the 2 covid scares,I could tell them I hadn't been there for a month and was fine myself. I have all sorts of reminders and other things in there too and this new diary just doesn't work for me.It might for dd she likes little things and she might take to putting appts and other things in it Being so small it will fit easily in any of her bags.So I didn't return it and have ordered the A5 size I usually get which should come through the letterbox with the post later today.Going to makea brew and some porridge. Still colhere but bright. Then try to figure out why the laptop has gone to italics partway through this post.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Polly paper sizes double up (or down). A5 is half the size of A4 (2 A5 pads will sit side by side on top of an A4). Going the other way A3 is twice A4, A2 is twice A3 (we're talking flip chart size now). It's useful if you are trying to work out whether a poster will fit on a wall - use a handy size.
My niece was recently baffled when I said envelopes to match came in 'C' sizes - she's doing what would once have been a civil service job (all outsourced through agencies now) so must use them all the time and never noticed. Think there are 'D' sizes too. You've reached the age when you've forgotten things you used to know - I had a dream once where I was getting annoyed because I was doing a list and could only remember some of it - I had quarto, folio, foolscap, didn't even know if they were paper sizes or book sizes.
I knew there would be trouble when you mentioned the 'K' word - red rag to a heffalump. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Before changing career I worked for the then Inland Revenue so knew all about C and D envelopes paper sizes etc. If you'd asked me about them a few months ago I'd have been able to tell you.I was really shocked when I started to post this morning convinced I'd slept the whole of today away until teatime . It was only glancing at the 24 hr clock on the laptop that showed me it was morning .I did sleep well last night after finally dragging myself to the Coop yesterday evening and oing a very big shop as the only customer there. Very relaxed , no needing to dodge other customers and I remebered to keep looking at my very long list rather than miss things. The fact thet'd just restocked everything with long dates and no shortages helped and no price increases either was the icing on thr cake .I emailed the company earlier to iell them just how good that store has been throughout the pandemic and how it's become the only shop I use now rather than buying some things there with their brand after we'd been in the Drs then heading to town for SBs or Marks food hall. The company have always welcomed feedback whether positive or negative.I reported a new manager last year who was aggresive and rude when myself and other customers asked if he could open another checkout. Only the little side till which doesn;t take trollies and one checkout open with a queue all the way to the back of the shop. The poor lad on the till was getting a lot of aggro and the manager wasn't interested and walked away saying he couldn;t be botheredI don't thonk I was the only person to report him, A lot of people said they were going to and I had told him I was going to contact head office. His only reply do what you like I can't be bothered and he walked away.Never saw him again. I had a lovely letter from head office with some shopping vouchers thanking me for my feedback and the matter had been dealt with.I've been a Coop member for years like my mum was and his attitude to both staff and customers was unacceptable. The staff there have worked like trojans through the last couple of years always a smile and a joke. Packing my bags and putting them in back in the trolley. Letting me use their phone to phone a really good taxi company I'd long forgotten about when my taxi didn't show up. Telling me to stay inside in the warm with my trolley until the taxi arrived. People like that shoudn't have to work with such a horrible man .The confusion over paper sizes and if I'd slept the day is down to seemingly neverending flares. Osteo and Psoriatic Arthritis and Fibro. When it gets like that Sciatica joins the party and I struggle to sit down. In past years I'd lean against the perching stool asI couldn't sit or lie down. It will pass. I slept well last night but the brain fog hit this morning so thought I'd slept today away. The sun is out but it's still cold. Frosty nights , cold and damp haven;t helped.I keep remembering Hannah Hauxwell isolated high on the fells and Too long a winter. All the garden bulbs are flowering but I'm longing for warmer spring days. I'm a lot better in a good spring, summer and autumn. The hayfever kicked in a month ago and I've now run out of antihistamines. One of Boots own brands is the only one that works for me and I haven't been to town for months, Our hospital is filling up with new varient cases so town is out.Youngest added 2 months supply to an online order she was doing she now buys her make up and other things from the online site. They've been sitting at hers for a few weeks. Now the shopping is sorted I'm hoping to see her in a few days depending how things go at the dentists today. It's very intensive treatment with a Bupa Private Dentist , He is wonderful working with her health in mind but he's now having to space out appts as the first stage led to ascesses and infection needing antibiotics. She could use her PPC for those because he;s able to do Nhs or private prescriptions but the cost of the private treatment is high. She's impatient to have it done but I have to tell her she;d make a pretty good GP wirth all the years of experience of meds procedures etc but she knows nothing of dentistry. Dentist is working with her health in mind and after the infection pushed her next appt further ahead to give her time to heal. He was recommended because he understands anxiety and complex health coniditions. The fact she will travel there and back in a taxi something she would never do alone proves he's good. Her bf is working from home so she's faced her fear and gone on her own.pollyxEta Where do these big white spaces come from at the the end of a post? l still have no idea where all that white came from.'I hope everyone is ok, Today turned out to be busy and I seem to have spent most of the day typing. my hands are horrified! On another cold day a glimmer of hope although I'm not relying on it. Our regional weatherman reckons Friday will be a lovely warm and sunny spring day. I really hope it is.I was planning to visit youngest then so we'll be able to sit in the Garden andbreathe in the sea air if it is.It's been quite a positive day. Nazarin is finally heading home to her wonerful husband who never gave up and their child.Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool where youngest was a patient when very young is talking in the children from Ukraine who need cancer treatment. It's the best hospital in the world for very good reasons and I've witnessed what they do. As well as the children they are going to accomodate their families in and around the hospital. So a bright light in a very dark world for those refugees. Many childerns hospitals welcome little knitted blankies or the hearts so common over the last few years in the NHS as something just for each patient .Our local hospital was inundated with those knitted red hearts one for every patient and all staff with plenty of sparesThings may have calmed down a lot now but they are still admitting covid cases and the work goes on.I was looking at the tribute to the Drs who had died fighting covid . A large percentage were of ethnic origanIt makes me wonder how people can be racist when dedicated doctors lose their lives trying to save others,I've bseen talking to friends today many struggling with pain, the weather , long delayed medical appts ,feeling isolated and other things.after 2 strange years.I've decided to start up the Poor Health thread part 2 again. The first thread had lots of hints and tips for coping with various tasks. cooking , housework organising paperwork , benefits and many other things,It is an open forum but we have a few rules.Martin's be kind to all moneysavers is one the last thing anyone struggling with anxiety or finding it hard to cope with everyday tasks needs is a snarky troll or nasty pm. A number of posters blocked pms as a result but some left.A big rule is not to tell a poster to switch to a different med. Someone did that and got a telling off from the mods. Only a Dr or Consultant is qualified to advise on medication and the snake oil and other suggestions are not welcome either. We aim to look at positives rather than dwelling on negatives because negative posts drag a thread down and when people are already feeliing pretty low thst isn't helpful. So it ranged from how to put a clean cover on a duvet. It may have been Floss who explained the Sushi Roll .Tools to help when cooking . Mini ovens microwaves and cookers ,Easier wasys to clean. Well I'm the emop and ecloth queen. They've made things quicker and easier for many years.Lots of stuff like keeping track of appts . The ppc as a cheaper way to pay if you have a lot of momthly meds like youngest. So everyone is welcome but no doom and gloom please let's find positives and solutions. We did have a lovely poster Doom and Gloom so she is very welcome . it's a while since I've seen her Wolfie Tink AOT and many others including WCS who knew a lot about Psoriatic Arthritis and was very helpful. So fingers permitting I hope we'll get it going.Mar always posted and believe it or not she was an abolute angel over there.I'll go there now then make a brew and hope to be there tomorrow .pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I've got a lovely recipe for biscuits/small cakes. It's thee most gorgeous taste ever - but they crumble to bits very easily. Any experienced bakers out there who can tell me how to teak the recipe to make them a bit firmer?
