Pollyanna, be warned. I also sailed through the first 2 jabs, wouldn't have known I'd had anything done. I also sailed through the booster......for 24 hours. Then the shivering started and I was wiped out for about a week.
A new experience for me. Lazy? Absolutely. Wiped out? Never.
It's so unusual for me to be under the weather that I can't stop telling people about it. Folk are scuttling into doorways to avoid having to hear about 'my bad reaction to the booster jab.'
Well. I've got to milk it for all its worth.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Polly I'm glad youngest is improving even if only slowly. Migraines are the pits.
Life on the marina is much the same, I can now read books thanks to the generosity of an online friend. Unfortunately we are moored in a dead zone so the internet is very ropey, it takes ages to load a page and if I want to load pics I have to sit outside.
I like Yorkshire farm and Repair shop, I see there is a new series of Shetland but I've not seen it. I'm not a huge tv fan but I would like to watch it occasionally.
One of the problems with the marina for me is the lack of women, there are 40 jettys each with 6 or 8 boats on there are only two other women. So whereas Steve can wander around and there is always someone he can chat to. I don't see anyone to speak to. One lady works full time, the other has a very strict husband, she's allowed to say hello, but then he call her back to the boat. But the upside is I do have unlimited hot water so I don't have to boil a kettle for my morning wash etc.
We have our boosters next week and hopefully our flu jabs.Chin up, Titus out.11 -
Oh Hester, that poor woman 😯
I hadn't realised the marina was so big! I was imagining something like the Basin at Stratford-upon-Avon!8 -
Thanks Hester she is feeling quite a bit better now,How lovely of your internet friend it's a shame the dead zone means connection is ropey. Do the marina charge less for these dead zones or is it dependent on your equipment. It must make time drag not having someone to talk to. I suppose there are more women around on the canals in the summer.Pity you and the poor woman with the strict husband can't at least talk to each other properly. He sounds as though he's living back in the dark ages. People like that make me shudder.Well it's dark and the day is almost over but I hope you have enjoyed your birthday. Happy Birthday and many happy returns.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hope you're feeling much better now monna it isn't pleasant but it did mean you had to rest up after all the busy months.I wont be surprised if I react to the booster. I was lucky I felt fine with the first two jabs.Youngest reacted badly to the first 2 jabs but reckons that's a good thing. I'm not sure about that myself. She will hopefully have her rearranged a couple of times booster on Dec 1st. We're still testing clear so we'll be glad to get it done.No idea when she'll be able to go back to the dentist. There haven't been any NHS dentists taking new patients. Ours retired shortly before the pandemic. She had one appt with the recommended for ECV patients BUPA dentist who seems really good, however she had to rearrange the next one and is way down the list and in pain.Hope you and the family are well ivyleaf. I watched the Man U match twice yesterday and although I've supported them since Georgie Bests day I think the party is over now they've sacked Ole.Those highly paid players weren't even trying yesterday. Captain Harry Maguire was like a battering ram and it was shameful. Not Ole but players not playing.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hard_Up_Hester said:Polly there is no reduction but we have just ordered stuff that might improve the situation.I hope it will solve the problem Hester. Something I've struggled with since last year is not being able to do the normal things. Snowdrop and Bluebell walks and other outdoor things. They used to be quiet pursuits but suddenly everyone wanted to be out in the countryside or on the beach or in parks.Very few were sticking to any rules so it wasn't safe.I've followed many outdoor walks etc via the TV but also seem to have watched a lot of repeats of drama series. I was watching back to back episodes of "Call the Midwife" last night for the umpteenth time when it occurred to me I could probably deliver a ward full of Babies the 60s way.I've watched "Staged" "Good Omens" and others again. I think it was you who likes Sean Bean. I've watched " Broken" and "Inside" a number of times. Briliant acting and as always great writing from Jimmy McGovern.I had a look around TV listings earlier and discovered Villages by the Sea bbc2 Mondays 7pm-7.30.Also something I wasn't aware of "Winter Walks" BBC 4 7'30pm from next Monday. Seems there was a series last year I miissed so will see if that's on iplayer.I've only once visited a large Marina. My BiL in Devon did the accounts when he retired for a large very swish one. We went for a meal there. Large restaurant, members lounges rather like a high class hotel. It never really occurred to me there were other marinas without those facilities. I suppose I assumed there would be some sort of social space at all marinas when people were overwintering where people could meet up and chat.I have everything crossed you will get a better internet connection and maybe another boat may yet turn up with someone to talk to.Thank goodness you have Beano to take for a walk. No idea whereabouts you are but if you were up North you'd be needing your thermals. Heavy frost last night and tonight.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

We're in Berkshire Polly and it's cold here too.
The only facilities on this marina are showers and toilets and I can spit faster than the water dribbles out of the shower.
If we get a tv signal I'll look up some of those programs.

It's rather chilly in County Durham today too. We had frost yesterday on the car windscreen. I've started wearing my hand knitted socks inside my furry boots to keep my feet warm, but I might just have to ditch the jeans in favour of my corduroy skirts and thick tights!2025 Fashion on the ration

I didn't realise you were in County Durham MrsCD. My brother in law in Devon was from Wallsend. In his youth he would run the length of Hadrians Wall and back for exercise. He moved to the NW in the 70s . Then Bolton and eventually Devon. He;s a fan of the Magpies and we had many a disagreement after matches especially during Fergies Glory Days.He has always called me Pet and it always makes me smile such a lovely word and I've only heard it in the NE,Hope everyone is ok. It's very quiet on the fence. perhaps we need a heated summerhouse as winter quarters.Tomorrow I hope to go out and do everything I needed to over the last 4 weeks. We've had to cancel and rearrange neither of us well enough.Hope Hesters signal problem is sorted.Just watching Owain. The forecast isn't good. Tomorrow will be the biggest of the two big coats day with a thick jumper underneath, I've already sorted out hats, scarves, gloves and thick socks and polished my ankle boots.Take care all and sleep well. I'm hoping the sciatica wont have me tossing and turning all night. It never used to be this bad. no idea if it's the weather, lack of exercise or what but there is a mattress in a spare room still unwrapped so that will go on the bed as soon as possible. The current identical one is is 9 years old so past it's use by date. They're no turn ones and the present one has been good.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
