Ming, I can sew, unfortunately, but still hate it with a passion.
Polly, my pieces of black out material (already had it or would be storming Dunelm fir ready-mades) are attached to my bedroom curtains with safety pins.

Have trouble remembering how to fly.11 -

One day................We do what we can monna. Sewn or pinned if it does the job what does it matter. If we all suddenly turned into the dreaded but spotted a good earner Mrs Hinch this thread would disappear. I remembered reading some long boring diatribe stretching out a household task in a very extreme way. I could have gone shopping, cooked a meal , washed up and been slouched in my armchair in the time it would have taken. She's very good at promoting various heavy duty, not needed if you have white vinegar, baking soda etc in the cupboard products though nice little earner.I now have a mental image of you storming the doors of Dunelm. Do you have a variety of pearly gates, doors etc modes. The gates of heaven really worked for youngest. Perhaps you should hire youself out as a multi purpose stormer- working from home in a comfy recliner of course and giving others a chance to do your mundane tasks with the money you would earn. You'd only have to uphold the annual chucking glitter at the cobwebs Christmas tradition and reserve that task for yourself. So clear instructions which cobwebs must remain.I hope David is ok and you're not overdoing things though you probably are.pollyxxETA Is that modern or wartime blackout material? Your mention of the missing old blue bag of sugar took me back to when mum would send me with a list to the Coop or Costigans. I loved watching all the weighing on the brass scales when loose items were bagged and the bacon slicer. I haven't seen one of them in use for decades with the choice of the thickness of the bacon or cooked meats slices. I've really been taking trips down memory lane in the past year or so. Better than exploding with rage I suppose.

Sorry you been struggling but can we have a nice normal rather than another type your Vaseness? I don't want to spoil your antique bottom by glueing you in your Niche but it's been a long day and I don't fancy a new persona coming at me.pollyx

Whatever happened to stardrops?7

Dont know if things have changed mehefin but Stardrops, Zoflora and some of my mums and a few of mine go to clening solutions were found not to be environmentally friendly in terms of sea life. Some item have been altered but I'm just using the homemade sloutions on the whole and never use chlorine bleach. Personal choice. It's cheaper and no plastic bottles going into landfill. Zoflora used to be in glass bottles but it seems in plastic now.I don't know the situation now but some years ago owners and vets were finding walking on zoflora washed floors was was affecting their paws and making them ill. Even Ecover whose products I'd used for decades sold their name and everything changed. There will be a lot online about it but some simple everyday things and sometimes a few drops of an organic oil also soap nuts and similar for laundry are cheaper an.d don't have asthmatics gasping or breath or children perhaps coming across the bleach someone forgot to store out of reach.A lot of plastic is recycleable but the process reqires a lot of energy use which isn't very environmentally friendly. Not using plastic containers. aerosol productsand some rather dubious ingredients is good for mother nature and us and carrying home some baking soda etc is mush easier than all the heavy bleach and other bottles.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Just keeping you safe my wee friend. You'd be at serious risk if No 10 needed an emergency Ming dynasty makeover, I mean one does tire of decor after a while. Don't moan to me when golf balls are heading in your direction for another "jolly jape"pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Gosh the typos last night. To clarify it was cats and some dog whose paws were sometimes affected by Zoflora . More common in cats but did affect some dogs, no owners or vets though as it seemed in my post.I blame the 2am phone call from Australia yesterday. I never managed to get back tp sleep again. It was lovely news but my sleep has gone out of the window.I'll be like a zombie when I'm out later today.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I won't have Zoflora products in the house. No way am I going to risk the health of my canine guests.Polly, you asked a way upthread if the cardi I have part done is the fisherman's thickness one. No, I finished that one a long while ago, and it's extremely warm to wear, so I tend to use it on the very coldest days. The one I have on the go now (or rather, stalled at present) is deep cherry-pink gen-yoo-ine Swaledale wool.Don't worry about typos; I'm amazed I don't do more of them, considering I have a five-month-old Cockerpoo trying to muscle in on everything I do.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)8
