MrsCD said:Finished the socks! Is that a variegated yarn? I thinks they're such a wonderful idea. My mum used to knit lots of fair isle things and it always seemed a bit of a faff.I knitted the shawls from the pattern Elaine Colliar put on her blog to represent the Stormy Skies in Scotland in a Sirdar Chunky I had to hunt hard to track down as it was discontinued, different shades of blues , purples and some greens which reminded me of those big Scottish skies. It was really quick to knit, the yarn washes well and is very light and soft but also warm. Those socks look very warm and cosy. I had a few attempts at knitting socks but didn't really take to it. I know Mar knits beautiful socks , I think she's more patient than me. It's actually really nice to have the real Mar back. I did tell her ages ago if she stuck with the rehabilitation, one day she'd be the Mar we all remembered. Seemed to take a very long time but she got there!pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I COULD REVERT. Send me lots of jellybabies to keep me calm.I actually don't like knitting socks, but once the family tried them they loved them, and now will only wear hand knitted socks. And you need a lot more socks than jumpers etc so they're always useful. I'm doing shawly scarves like Hitchchikers in between socks to keep me sane. Ish. Think I'll do gloves next, I enjoy the fiddlyness of knitting gloves.Says she sitting on her backside doing nothing at all but drinking coffee..7

Lovely day yet again here at the seaside.
Dashed down to the Church we used to attend to hand over flower arranging duty to a new volunteer - C. C did flowers at her previous Church but I think was a bit taken aback when I explained how things were done at this one. Anyway - that is another job off my list - I still have previous Church and hall keys as I need to clear out cupboards.
Mr F has popped down to Ald. for a few bits of shopping.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Backmail now is it Madarthur. I'm glad you added the ish to sane. I suggest you stay off the coffee and get back to the tea. You didn't buy the coffee from the poison gardens at Alnwick by any chance did you? I've warned you to stay away from there. I do not ever buy Jelly Babies these days. Your mention of biting all their heads off first put me off for life.Thought you were supposed to be out looking at winter jackets and boots.pollyx

I didn't go. I'm still here drinking coffee. I haven't seen a bloody jellybaby for MONTHS, heads or other ends. I'm sugar-deprived.

Go back to tea you're nicer on tea. This has to be the longest attempt at rehabilitation ever. If it pours down you'll be sorry you didn't go to Kelso, jelly babies wont keep you dry in bad weather so don't come moaning to me. Anyway you've been treating yourself to cake sugar free was it?pollyx
