I've been multitasking shopping list for tomorrow, things to drop off at the soup kitchen and ordering candles in quantity.I was looking for the missing book when I remembered I used to follow Shirley's blog. It took me a while to remember the title . It was Taste the Goode Life. The blog ran from Sept 2006-Nov 2015.The final entry was from her family saying Shirley had finally lost her long battle with poor health. All her posts are still there to read. I mentioned how she would follow the seasons when cooking and often foraging . Aptly the first entry is Sept so she'll be heading into Autumn. Sometimes I'd have to wait until the weekend to catch up but I always did.I'm going to start reading from the start again and follow the seasons as she did. She was an amazing lady in her often tough life but never complained and faced tough times and good times with her Northern wit. Sometimes she would have me laughing or wantng to give her a hug. I believe she was Too Good(e) to be forgotten, she's left a written legacy for good and bad times and the time is right for her wisdom to be shared in these tough times. The Fence is a continuation of The Tougher Threads so anyone who wants to follow Shirley over the 9 years she blogged it's Taste the Goode Life. I just googled that and .the whole blog came up from the beginning.Isn't it odd how a mention of Shirley can roll back the years?pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
