Not been on the Fence for a day or two, up tonight. can't sleep. Came in to see what you've all been up to -esp that Polly!

That Polly has been in the land of the sleepless Mar. I have to go out so dragging myself around trying to remember what I need, when you can't remember what a hairbrush looks like things aren't good. I reckon a very slow slug could out run me right now.I'll be back later unless I fall asleep on a bench somewhere.Recline in your recliner or sit out in the sun. It's lovely here sunny but not too hot with a lovely fresh breeze so the fresh air will be welcome.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Too hot for me, the garden here is a sun trap. Next year I'll get a comfy swing sofa thingy for out there. You take it easy!!

It's far too hot for me to be outside; I can't even recline on the sofa, as three quarters of it is occupied by one very chunky, solid-built Staffie who has no intention of moving.Perhaps she'll shift when Mr Wolf gets home; he's gone to the garage to get his wing mirror repaired - some Jerky McJerkface clipped it a few days back due to driving way too fast in Bee and Screw-it's car park, and the glass wouldn't stay in place afterwards because the little clips that hold it in were broken. The only consolation is that Jerky McJerkface must have had similar damage to his own wing mirror. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)5

Too hot here, as well (a real flag cracker). Emptied the large water butt on Sunday, using lots of 2 l bottles, loaded them all onto my trolley and walked round the garden pouring them onto beds and containers. Then refilled them from the tap (first time I've done that this year) and put those on any bits I'd missed last night. I nearly came here in the early hours as I wasn't sleeping either. The night before I had a long detailed dream - I will not be having any more substitutions in my soft drinks order. I don't drink tea or coffee and there's only so much tap water you can drink.
On Saturday DS2 came to help me in the garden for a few hours (more tidying than actual gardening). He mostly did what I asked but when he got behind the shed he wanted to throw away all my plastic bottles - he said it was hoarding. I do have a lot but I use them a lot for potting on, as water drippers and last year I grew strawberries and lettuce in them. It's just that at this time of year, the things that were growing in them have been transplanted into the raised beds. We compromised on him collecting them in bin bags. He thinks they're going to the tip, I need to go through and decide what stays, what goes in the bin and what goes in the pile for the tip (we have someone who goes most weeks and is willing to add a few of our things to his pile).
I started before DS2 came, by emptying one of the little water butts so that he could move it and break up the old kitchen chair it was standing on. I sifted the last few piles of soil into buckets removing any stones, weeds and rubbish and got him to add in his 'sweepings' (he called it dirt, I call it soil or it will be when it's mixed with 'good' soil). WE finally ate at 8 pm. It looks lovely - lots of clear paving slabs and we even have a table, chairs and parasol set up.
It's bin day today (collection tomorrow) so I've just been through 3 of his bin bags and added perhaps half a bin bag to what I'd gathered from round the house. I've reclaimed 3 bags (I had a bag for life which I agreed he could bin but he's binned two perfectly good ones - even when they develop small holes I can usually get another year or two out of them as garden containers), 2 pea nets and the seat pad for the old swing seat which I've folded onto a chair.
2 bins have gone out for collection and if it gets cooler later I may have a go at mum's 'rockery' - she wants it extending. Her cousin cut back the shrubs level with the ground but I think I need to dig out some of the roots or it will just grow back through whatever I put there.
Have a good day if you can find a shady spot.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
I will spare you the details of my life at the moment. Give thanks!
I woke up in the middle of the night thinking.... GLUTEN-FREE. I had clean forgotten to provide anything GF for the wake tomorrow.
I've invested in a bag of GF flour and done nothing with it.
Ah well.....if I stay up all night............or, (more likely) make a lightning dash to the Co-op and see what they have on offer in the Free From department......all is not lost.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I just want to spend my life laughing.
(And sleeping, and reading and listening to music. Oh! and eating.)I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.11
