  • 1 I took the day off and caved to the doc’s and a rather large dose of antibiotics, as I haven’t been able to visit DF now for a while because of it.
2 Looked in the fridge and found I had made a lasagne, so that’s dinner and used up the apple, blackberries and strawberries which are cooking away in the oven to be served with custard in a bit.
3 Hung the washing around, well put the dryer back together then re hung it.
    4 Enjoying reading everyone’s pleasures.

Not a good day at work. Morning was ok but afternoon had to swap sights for a meeting, which hurts my back and is a waste of time. Nothing ever gets sorted. I mentioned issued for the umpteenth time about bookings which negatively affect me. The only response is they are overworked and I have to live with it! And I don't get a lunch break.

    1. In the morning had a coffee and tracker before I left the first site. A colleague has brought them last week.

    2. A chat after work with my union rep who suggested some wording for an email i will be writing this week.

    3. Watching the chickens in the garden and a quick tidy up.

    4. DS2 cooked tea, lovely pasta dish. Even better as I didn't feel like cooking.

    5. Reading my book and managing more than a page before falling asleep.

    Monday pleasures,

Weird one but 16 hour fast after overindulgence at the weekend, makes me feel better.

Visit to favourite tack shop, catching up with all the news of the girls who work there and obviously shared mine, few emergency bits purchased for LL.

Healthy tuna wrap for lunch but then Capt S filled car up with diesel and brought Mr Sparks fruit buns back with him, would have been rude not to.

Uni Challenge, answered a few :D

Reading in bed, listening to the rain, cosy.
  • 1) House clean and tidy.

    2) washing almost finished in the machine and ready to hang out.

    3) Fridge sorted, tidied and things in there 'date' sorted.

    4) I'm showered, hair dried and packed.

    5) I'm off to play with my Grandpickles for a few days, possibly the very biggest pleasure in life!!! WOOHOO!!!

General pleasures for last few days - so tired.

    1) Hens well - moulting but starting to lay again.

    2) Very large autumn raspberries.

    3) My sister has started her new job. She's swapped from high school teaching to primary.

    4) My brother came up to watch the England match last night. Wales are playing tonight (we prefer watching Wales, 20 minutes from the border with half Welsh sons!)

    5) Painting the stairs and landing is nearly complete. Bigger son does the high bits. Can't believe how many coats of paint it has taken.

    6) Bigger son is starting at college tomorrow. He is very interested in what he is going to wear (sister bought him 2 Jack Wills T shirts to celebrate his GCSE results) and has bought himself a new wallet! Sometimes I can't believe he is related to me. We were talking about tomorrow not being a full day (probably) but more an admin day and handing out of text books and PPE. He said, "Oh, if we finish early, I'll get everyone together and we'll go to McDonalds so we can meet properly". :-D

    7) Weird pleasure is bigger son not breaking anything. He was on a shed roof with his friends, then stood up to wave to some more friends walking towards him (all this in the dark, of course). He walked to the edge of the roof to wave better and their torch was in his eyes. So he walked OFF the edge of the roof, landed on his feet 8 feet below so hard he was winded and fell over! All his friends thought his time was up but he's just got a bit of back ache.

    8) Smaller son is starting back at school on Thursday (year 10). He is looking forward to it, especially his catering GCSE and doing lots of cooking. Chefs whites, apron and cap bought. It is a comprehensive school but 400 years old and used to be very posh, hence over the top uniform and seemingly extra uniform for every occasion.

    9) Have applied for job and waiting to hear; deadline is tomorrow.

    10) Vaguely planning our holiday next year. It will be Denmark (Ampersand!) but because it all has to be by train it'll be Brussels, Hamburg, Copenhagen to break up the journey plus popping to Malmo so we can go to Sweden too. Looking forward to the bit of Denmark where the train drives on to a ferry.

    11) Rather looking forward to the return of school and college as I've now so much to do. Bigger son is in tomorrow but is then off again until Monday. Not long to go now! I think we are all annoying each other.

Bedtime ...when I say bed, I mean mattress topper ( one inch thin) on the floor, a sleeping bag and some blankets.

Everything has gone that's going! House is echoey.

    Left over pizza.

    Many trips to salvos.

Train to hospital for info session. Being a volunteer at charity walk soon.

    Night
  • 5 Watched the soccer last night. Poor. Southgate must walk. That all! PM2DD It went wrong when Ramsey took Charlton off!

4 After that, it is back to the mill today. Good year as this is week 38, the next few weeks are buckshee as they are not in the year plan. More pennies to burn. And with the orders of hay for the next few months, the coals will be shovelled in the boiler room for a while yet. Fill yer boots! As for the coals, the Jennies are spinning now in record fashion. Looks like the pension is going to crash into my work at an exceedingly good rate!

3 Good the usual good proper food for lunch again, this time with added green bits. Free kiwi berries. Looks to me like sour grapes gone wrong really. Expensive, avoid. As ever tested by BoP, but I would not push people out of the way to get some!

2 Night, with recommended viewing again BoP is heading to the gym, to show off his piste ready body. Well summer is over and all that. Were talking downhill now!

    Skid on thin ice!
  • A little bit of a hoo hah going on this end, I appreciate DF’s sisters have his care at heart, yet literally every time they talk or email, it is a very long list of complaints. Some of this is I don’t feel the need to communicate the amount of early morning calls I get from his alarm, or things that I do in the background but they choose to believe the worst every single time, and this time I literally blew my stack, with very good reason.

1 Final sick day off spent battling the lurgy this end, hopefully I won’t be contagious any more.
2 Gammon and salad for lunch, but this bug has everything tasting odd.
3 About to get clean bedding on for us, it will be a pleasure for later.
4 Autumn has arrived early and I love the season it’s welcome.
5 I am reading a kindle book slowly, as I don’t want it too end, it’s the last in a magical trilogy that has been an easy read.

VERY envious of your trip Frith, I've always wanted to go to Denmark - fancy sharing your plans on PM with me? KW, DD and I are already thinking about what adventures we shall have next summer holidays :)

    1. Second Inset day done and dusted. Lots of changes today, hope I remember them all!!

    2. Looking forward to tomorrow and meeting the new class again - got lots and lots of activities for us to do over the next 3 days to ease them back in gently(ish)

    3. NSD, yay!

    4. I've made an appointment to talk to the mortgage advisor so that he can make a formal application for me tomorrow.

    5. The vicar kindly certified copies of my passport and driving licence, saving me pennies by not having to ask my doctor.

    6. Neither DD or nor I could sleep at about 5:30am so she came in for cuddles and a good snooze in my bed, which was perfect!
