    For Tuesday :

The children sleeping through! It's like when they were babies!

The most stunning sunrise and dog walk this morning. Fields all white, ground all crunchy and frosty ( much better than muddy)

Gas service done, booked in between 12-6pm. Phone call at 9am, could he come now? Absolutely!

Down into town. Had appointment at bank with DD2 to,open account.

Went into charity shop and bought 3 jumpers...mine are all rather thin! Two were brand new Christmassy ones.

Home and son filled my car with yet more for recycling.

Then went down to old work for lunch and a wee catch up with old colleagues which was nice. Had a baked potato.

Had a bit of a dose. Have had a grizzly throat for a week or so, not sore, just an annoying dry cough. So not sleeping great as keep waking up coughing. So a wee snooze was what was needed.

Kids had pie and beans for tea.

& please be kind to yourself! Take it a bit easy!
  • 1) A wonderfully white and frosty morning (viewed from indoors!)

    2) Just packed my suitcase as I'm off tomorrow for a few days with DD1 to Berlin for the Christmas Markets.

    3) Booked the Opera in Berlin on Friday night to see The Magic Flute and also have a Reichstag Dome visit booked in as Nell's colleague who is travelling with us has never been and always wanted too. Also going to the Tierpark to visit the Pallas Cats Woohoo!

    4) Fab W8rose today where I used some vouchers they had sent and paid £30 for a £50 shop!

    5) Candlelit Carol Service tomorrow in the Cathedral from the school Nell teaches at and real treat for me, she's turning music and working organ stops in the Cathedral Organ Loft for the organist and I get to sit up there for the service too (apparently there is a comfy sofa) and view all from a new perspective, so looking forward to it (Berlin too).
  • 1 3 days to go, I’ve prepared the invoice and timesheet already, they are still ploughing work in, I’m doing what I can and documenting everything.
2 Stopped in at Mr T on the way home I was very early and only in to pick up cakes to say bye to work, however they also did some reductions we got some burgers and ham snaffled in the freezer.
3 Healthy fish for food as I am aware I’m out for lunch tomorrow, but I’m still planning on fish and chips I’m looking forward to it.
4 More kitchen progress holes made worse and filled in, one wall washed.
    5 Feeling happier in general.

Mrs LW Your adventures sound wonderful. So jealous!

    Today

    1. Had great plans for second snow day, but did not feel very well, so had lots of snoozettes and took it easy. Could not do that at school! :rotfl:

    2. Free O2 coffee with DD.

    3. Used lots of coupons in MrT for bargain shop.

    4. BBQ Pulled pork in slow cooker.

    5. Made mince pies and watched Kristies Handmade Xmas. Mince pies better this time. Might get the hang of them by Xmas!

Early night. DH at Xmas party. Getting some sleep before the snoring starts! :rotfl:

    Kittikins - hooray!!

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) No more snow. Still 30cm to trudge through all day and it took me 30 mins to unearth the car and move it 90 degrees before it goes completely stuck on the ice. And now it's raining!

    3) Hens survived the night which was said to be minus 9. Still not coming out of their sleeping quarters. Took warm porridge down this morning. Bigger son cleared the snow off the top of their sleeping quarters as it was starting to list to the right. :-/ I took fresh warm water at 5pm but they were pretty much asleep by then. It was very nice looking across the snow in the twilight.

    4) No school today and bigger son didn't go to college as I didn't think the bus would come. I did see his bus arrive back at 5pm but it was a tiny mini bus and didn't dare go on the village hall car park but just stopped in the road!

    5) Had a good tidy up this afternoon in the kitchen. Also made butternut squash curry for my tea and 4 or 5 portions for the freezer. Roast vegetables to go with our tea tomorrow and some for the freezer also.

    6) Put up the tree and decorations. They just look a bit sparse this year. I've asked bigger son to form some sort of copper star or wreath shape for me and we'll put some lights around that.

    7) Watched Holby City.

    8) We'll all listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue in a minute when I put the laptop out on the landing.
  • Long time since last posted due to unavoidable circa. So glad to be back and looking forward to catching up on threads.
    Pleasures
    1. Cold but dry so got to wear nice winter boots, not scabby snow boots.
    2. Dug out pressure cooker to make lamb stew for dinner which was a lovely treat. Old school because the PC let me use a cheap cut.
    3. Had already decluttered living room so didn't need to tidy today
    4. Rescued spider plant from imminent demise and finally saw it perk up
    5. Best of all, back on OS forum!
    Looking ahead

A warm, steamy kitchen as made soup and generally 'pottered'

Reading in bed, cosy and warm with rain lashing against the bedroom window.
  • 5 See I tolds yous how good BoPsie was and how she scoured the town yesterday for proper wobbleade from Wainfleet! Its sure was tasty! Other wobbleades are available, but a inferior!

4 Missed something about a minor tv programme that was on the box in the seventies. I must have missed it because on Saturday morning BoP was playing football! Was he the one who was nude on some goldish programme. Usual rule, if the cortege comes up my road and I am out, I will dop my hat!
Yet I read another that had stardom thrust upon them, yet so carelessly dumped. Just as those who served three or six years as a PTE, expendables of life? On the next Obit, a lesser one of the few passed on.

3 Months time BoP shall be grumpy again as he was yesterday! Only hope I earn enough pennies to pay him too much again! Please don’t avoid him like the GoCart driver, as to be part of society, we need people who make money to pay in! Unlike the … Mind you saying that, the covering of slush has closed our local school completely this weak! I am applying for a tax refund due to lack of service?

2 Night again down at the gym, BoP is just loosing up the ring, Then reversion food testing, meatballs and crinkle cut chips! BoP can’l live on Jaffa cakes alone!

Out at last, this years' BoP Annual!
