Bad Tyre fitting

All, I'm utterly surprised that the garage took the tyres back, replaced them with new and agreed to supply 2 new alloy wheels as well.
Usually, if there is a question raised about whether a tyre has a manufacturing defect, the tyre is taken off the vehicle and sent to the manufacturer with nothing offered until the manufacturer has had the opportunity of seeing the tyre.0 -

Indeed. I doubt this is what really happened.0 -
You're not the only one. There's an often-seen pattern on here:BeenThroughItAll wrote: »Indeed. I doubt this is what really happened.
- post a situation, asking for advice as to who might be in the wrong.
- get responses, some of which place at least some or all of the blame on the OP.
- OP gets overly defensive, drip feeds more information to try and cement their position.
- OP eventually gets the hump with their critics, calls them idiots or similar.
- OP posts a result which rather neatly fits their version of events and absolves them of any blame. Usually much faster than such a situation would normally be resolved.0 -

Why?
Last time I went in and complained that all the tread had disappeared off my tyres over the last year the tyre chain gave me 4 brand new tyres, 4 brand new alloys and a 2 week holiday in the Caribbean as compensation
