Bt reward problem claiming

Thanks steve and teddysmum. I have now heard back from them again, and they pointed me to the small print on https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/bt-reward-card "T Offer Terms & Conditions" which gives the dates. You are right steve, on the 25th it switched to being £125.
However the deal I signed up for was the one that supposedly ended on the 24th August. The reason is that for some reason they extend the time limit to 1 am of the following day (as if they're counting by European Time). I filled in the forms before 12 midnight but it failed at the last minute after I clicked the submit button with my bank details. Seeing that the countdown had an hour left I tried again, and it was accepted... after 12 midnight. So I got the deal that supposedly ended at midnight, but on the 25th, which their software seems to have decided means I'm only entitled to the £125 reward card.
So it's a question of whether I can persuade them otherwise... it's a strange situation, but it was the original deal promoted by MSE in its weekly email, with a £150 Reward Card, that I signed up for!0 -
Hi,
I signed up to a BT fibre broadband deal offering a £75 reward card, which I am finding virtually impossible to use.
I got the card and thought I validated it and was ready to use it. But when I tried to use it in the shop they said I needed a PIN. I don't ever recall having received a PIN.
So I contacted BT and that's where the fun and games started.
I don't want to go into the whole rigmarole here as I am stressed after spending the best part of two hours either on phone or web chat to BT, who are unable to help me today and need to "investigate" and will get back to me in 48 hours. Even though I contacted them last Friday and they said someone would get back to me within 48 hours.
If I rang my bank to say I'd lost a PIN number, or never received one in the first place, it would be sorted. But BT customer service on telephone just gave me a load of excuses about how their access was restricted to BT reward cards and said I would be better off speaking to the webchat team. So I just did, but they can't give me an immediate answer and the matter has to be "investigated", which will take 48 hours.
Apparently if this is not sorted within the next couple of weeks I'll lose my £75 reward card cash and the way things have gone so far does not inspire much faith that the problem will be dealt with in time.
I am starting to think this is a scam. Has anyone else had problems claiming BT rewards or spending their money on the card once received?
I've found other forums where people have complained about the difficulty in redeeming BT reward cards/cash or they did get the reward but it was less than the amount promised/advertised.
I would really like to hear from anyone who has had similar problems. Or can suggest to me how I resolve this. Thanks0 -

BT don't issue the cards.
Mine was from
https://www.purecard.com/
PIN number was setup when validating the card I seem to remember.0 -
Nope not a scam. Had a couple.
You could always use it online.0 -
If it's the prepay mastercard, then as said it's Purecard who issue them. I have had no problems spending my one. From their FAQs.......How can I get a reminder of my PIN?
You can see your PIN when you're logged into this site, under My Details, Security, View PIN.0 -
When I got one of these on a BT deal, I used it to credit my BT account - covered a few months of payments, and meant no faff trying to use it elsewhere!0

I had a £200 one.
As others have said it requires you to set up a Purecard account.
There was a letter which came with the card?
It has the instructions about setting up an account with Purecard.
Once the account was setup (Username + Password) I could login to set my PIN and as time went on I could check the balance.
I used mine in Sainsburys to pay for the weekly shop.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Thanks everyone - I logged on to Purecard and now have my PIN number and have activated the card. I feel such an idiot! Many thanks!0

Thanks for the update, too often we never get to hear the final outcome.Move along, nothing to see.0

I have a different problem with my BT reward card. I haven't received mine even though BT claimed to have send it more than a month ago. They tell me now that they regard the reward card as a gift and so they are under no obligation to give you one and you couldn't cancel your contract if never get it. Who are they to say what's part of the contract? As far as I'm concerned the card was an inducement for me to leave my then current service provider. Has anyone else had a problem getting their reward card?0
