Looks like my ideal diet
Gammon, HM chips etc dinner went well and as planned, in fact very tasty
I have decided the LO mash will be used tomorrow, either defrost a kipper pack or a couple of bangers. Either will go with the newly LO beans
Flashed up the streaming gizmo on the TV, great, watched the last two episodes of Feud that I missed recording. Not wishing it on myself but a bad day needing a blanket & recliner could be made passable watching loads of half decent stuff instead of afternoon TVEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I have some powdered milk but I don't like porridge made with that much. I found a two pint bottle of milk in the freezer, but I'm nearly out of yoghurt and bread as well. I usually have bread in the freezer but had planned to pick up a loaf on Saturday.
I shall have to decide whether to do an online order, go out, or ask a neighbour to pick up these items for me.
I didn't feel up to cooking anything for dinner so had a lasagne ready meal.
But the good news is that there are some gaps appearing in the freezers, so it isn't all bad.

I'm still groggy and out of synch. Not slept well.
Had another biscuit late last night.0 -
Another very chilly morning, but looks breezy too, I have a throw and some cushion covers in washer, will be ready to put out shortly.
It must be cold as dgson asked for a blanket, whilst eating breakfast, but he's full of a cold even his eyes were yuk this morning.
I've had 2 gf toast and cheese spread. Now need to get dressed to see dgson off to school.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
arghh no sun forecast at all today, dull all day. Ok got to go with the flow. I`ll be eating whatever I can find in the freezer/fridge, I have enough veg, still and will cook purple sweet potato, kale and carrots, I know I have a bit of bacon and a sausage in individual freezer packs. That will do for lunch and I can throw on the last crumpled small tomatoes
I make myself have porridge for breakfast, don`t particularly relish it, so I soak the oats with a few prunes all night, in milk for the protein, keep it in the fridge. Made in 2 minutes and then sprinkled with shelled hemp seeds. I can have some toast with peanut butter scrapes for last meal, anyway I need to use the bread before I make a loaf
In betweeners, fruit plate, dark chocolate, a large and yummy hm scone with butter and jam and a freshly squeezed cold grapefruit
I am too busy enjoying my knitting to think of food at the moment, I suppose it is all CBA tbh0 -
Morning All
It was a darn cold weekend, the temp supposed to pick up a bit this week thankfully. Yesterday I nipped out to the supermarket before going on my walk and the car thermometer showed -2 deg and that was at 11.00am, my forehead was aching with the cold, wind chill factor.
I tried out a new to me recipe of baked fish with mushroom stuffing for tea last night and very tasty it was too.
Breakfast today is toast with cottage cheese, cucumber & tomato. I'm still in the mood to have salads at lunchtime last week it was Asian style dressings, this week there's some feta and chicken roll that needs using so think I'll do a balsamic dressing with that.
Back to using up freezer stock today, I had thought to make a hotpot in the slow cooker but forgot to take meat out last night so will do that tomorrow instead and today I'll have Veggie Shepherds Pie.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Good morning everyone,
Another cold one here (still -2C) but the sun is trying to break through so hopefully it will warm up a bit.
I need to head out in a bit for a Dr's review and Well Woman clinic so not exactly a fun way to spend a morning but needs must etc.;)
My harissa spiced chicken last night was tasty but could have done with more harissa in the marinade. Tonight I'm making a new recipe for me Jack Monroe's "Aubergine & Kale Satay" so will see how that goes. Eggs I think for brunch as I'm having another no breakfast day.:)0 -
Morning to all
I was up with the sparrows and had a very early breakfast - fruit and cornish ice cream. Then I made a start on giving the place 'a good' clean as I have visitors today. When I retired (nearly 5 years ago) I decided to trace my family tree and about 8 mths ago I completed a DNA test. My tree on Ancestry is hidden, but for the purpose of the test I produced a skeleton tree for matches. To cut a long story short, a lady made contact and asked me whether a particular person was present in my tree - he was, and in fact my great-grandmother's (x2) brother. Apparently 'William' had a secret family and the lady was a descendant. William was an eminent lawyer - plenty of dosh - and paid for the 3 'secret' daughters to be maintained and attend a private school. Honestly, I could write a book about this guy lol. Anyway, it will be interesting to meet the lady and her husband. I like them too much to inflict my cooking upon them and so we will be 'going out' for lunch
.
Hope all you poorly ones are feeling a little better today0 -
There has been very little cooking in the McC29 household, as my rebellious tummy rebelled against all the rich festive season food, and has had to have a couple of days off, which is the only thing that puts it right. My freezers are well-stocked, but the fridge could do with a refill, along with the cupboards.
It's a glorious day here, and I feel a shopping trip coming up later, my work being under control, and allowing me some time off today, hooray. There are compensations to working on Saturday and Sunday, and a leisurely Monday is one of them.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
