I did enjoy the LO sausages + brown sauce sarnie for lunch, as has been said many times, old style nosh can be very satisfying
While the tools were out for the DW I got on with a job that has been waiting for me to get the Round tuit out. Replace the cooker hood lamp. The glass bulb had separated from the base so needed power off and pliers.
Job done, now do I risk a trip to Morries tomorrow to buy a replacement lamp? I think that decision will be wait & see what time I get up, and if the car park is heaving I will turn round and leave it
Mr APJI, here is one I have seen and used as a guide at times, seems fairly blokeish, bung it in, no messing about, and goes step by step

Money2short - thanks for suggesting the books - I will take a look
PN - I surprised myself with the sauce as it wasn't too bad for a first effort - so thanks for that. The cauli was another matter - a bit soggy lol. Never mind I won't cook it for so long the next time lol
When I popped to the bakery for some rolls, I noticed that they had discounted all their xmas cakes. Originally £12 and down to £4 - worth every penny as it's turned out to be really nice. I've polished off 2 slices already
Farway - hey thanks for the link - that site looks really interesting.0 -

Now you're getting CFO, grab a reduced price cake and scoff two slices:)
I have scoffed another mince pie, and think one more will vanish with my cuppa in a minuteEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I intended to have a slice of quiche, to free up freezer space + chips + beans, but the quiche bits had welded together - I'd deliberately cut out a piece and eaten is so I could separate the 1/3rds, but as the freezer had been quite full when I froze it the separated 1/3rds appear to have slid together again before frozen.
Bent my cutting knife trying to separate them again - so I put it back in the freezer .... and made a cheese omelette + chips + beans instead.0 -
and I have just eaten six leibniz biscuits and I wasn`t even hungry. Dohhh, it is that comfort eating again, as christmas gets closer. Its such an empty, hollow time0

[QUOTE=kittie;7360._Its_such_an_empty,_hollow_time[/QUOTE]
I know what you mean Kittie. I was unloading my car earlier and a little girl from the other side of the road came over. She told me that at xmas her family always burn a candle when they sit down to eat. They then remember all the friends and family that are no longer with us. She said they have been thinking about J. Goodness, I wasn't expecting that and had a few moments when I went inside - felt so empty and alone. Also appreciated the family's kind thoughts and the little girl's kindness0 -
Oh yes holly, thank you, I am fine. It`s just that long stretch of time until the 3rd january. I made a spinning wheel last year, it took me the whole time and kept me going. Lots of people are like mr ap and me and others, you just have to soldier on and make the best of life. I am always thankful for a warm bed, warm house and enough food. Don`t like the short days but heyho, they are getting longer from now, 6 minutes a day0

I made 3 little chocolate cornflake cakes.... they're in the fridge setting.
They won't last long will they.
I bet they're my "new thing"..... too easy, too tasty. Oops.0
