I ate all the flapjack. I cut it into six pieces, put four in the fridge and ate two .... then trotted back to the fridge and grabbed the other four0

I don't have many days like this but its been a Really Really CBA kind of day, after a late start I had a cheese scone (from freezer stash) spreading cheese, cucumber & tomato. Then I went on a spending spree (picked me up no end) got a pair of blue suede bootees (they remind me of blue desert boots I had in the 70's) :rotfl: :rotfl:
I also discovered a B&M store that has opened not too many miles from me so had a quick look around there, bought a diary and a smelly candle to cheer me up, thought this is perhaps somewhere I may use regularly for household and tinned foodstuff
Then back home for more freezer stuff, soup pinged for lunch and I've just put some frozen chips in the oven which I'll have with a couple of fried eggs.
Really must get my you know what in gear, I haven't been as organised with my menu planning of late - think I function better when I have that under controlJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
A Very nice dinner. I did make the easy omelette, and added in the sliced L/O potatoes instead of served separately
The YS smoked salmon was excellent, I have some left for tomorrow. Excellent stuff, will get it again if YS, but pricey for normal scoffing
And for pud it was slice of toast with last of the lemon curdEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
Farway - I love smoked salmon. Asda (and others no doubt) do packs of the trimming for under £2 that are fab in lots of things so I always have some in the freezer portioned up. They give me the luxury taste without the pricetag.
I'm late posting today as (for me) I have a very busy day. I was up and showered/dressed early so I could be functioning by the time the Auditor arrived to check the out of school care clubs books. Thankfully all was ok:). I didn't manage to have breakfast (shouldn't have had hit the snooze button:o) so I was ravenous come lunch time, so had a decent sized bowl of HM soup + 2 slices of toast, pate & tomato. I just scoffed that when the postman arrived with my Pension Quote:D and it looks accurate:D. My brain was scrambled after the morning so I'll fill in the paperwork tomorrow morning and look out the bits of proof I need (just as well I didn't tear up my marriage cert in a fit of pique:cool:). This afternoon my friend's niece came for a visit and a heart to heart. She is learning disabled and although lives independently and works struggles with some aspects of social interaction especially how other people might respond to how she does or doesn't act in certain situations which can give the impression that she is unappreciative of things done for her or that she takes it for granted. Anyway suffice to say I popped my "mammy" hat on and we had a good chat.
I have no idea about dinner tonight, I'm hungry but really cba cooking so it will be rake in te freezer and something easy which I suspect will translate into cumberland sausage, roasted veg and HM wedges or a baked spud:cool:0 -
I just ate tomorrow's food
It's VERY windy here, so I convinced myself I should cook/eat the two last sausage rolls in case I lost the electricity. I thought "better eaten, hot" than cold tomorrow....
I managed to convince myself this was "Disaster Planning" and re-heated/ate them
Trouble is .... I'm now over-budget for food today .... and I've nothing in mind for tomorrow... although I do still have spuds ....0 -

I'm keeping everything crossed. It's going to be well into the New Year before I do the bathroom as I want the worst of the winter passed before we start ripping up floors etc. and creating drafts. But I'm looking for a sort of warm, neutral finish as it's a cold north facing room. It's pale green & white just now which fits with the house age/character but don't add to any feeling of warmth. I will miss the floor tiles though which actually are quite lovely a sort of marled mid soft slate green and were pretty expensive (though we got them cash in hand - as surplus to a Jaguar Car showroom {long story}) and although 15+ years old and look like new!

Its quite windy here has been all day. Glancing at what passes for 'Teletext' these days it seems it will continue until 7am at least here (Derby)
Nothing wrong with a bit of forward planning I think. Oh there's loads you could do with those spuds as you know, maybe something dead quick/simple like a bit of mash with some veggie bits mixed in maybe ?
Bagged a mini bargain today I think, one of those 99p or so 'micro soup mugs' for 50p instead. BPA free. Why because there was no lid. That's perfect as I just want a small jug to either mix some gravy in or to use as a standby pot for bits and pieces, besides the lack of lid nothing a bit of cling film with a few holes poked in won't fix. I was intending to buy a tiny small glass jar but I could not see one so I guess I have saved a few pennies anyway.
Tonight it was just a tin of 'chunky veg' soup and then some more wholemeal bread.
I keep looking at those ready meals that have been sat there since at least August too, but not really in the mood for them, even though I half want one of the containers. I do have a pack of Sains 'Frozen Vegetarian Hot Dogs' that has been there ages too but not been in the mood to do anything with that, thankfully there are zapper instructions on the bag.
May have to move the online shop to next week rather than the week after as its too annoying to get sensible things without a lot of travel. At least I'm running the 'long standing' tins down though.
I also viewed both an air fryer and a mini oven today both are within £5 of each other but that's something for next month. A bit of a potential dilemma maybe.0
