The recipe I have is in my mothers handwriting on good old blue Basild0n B0nd writing paper - she probably got at the WRI, she was always baking something.
Snap - mine came via my Gran who was a staunch member of the WRI in Lanarkshire in the 1940s & 50s:D

    Good evening everyone,
Fish stock was made, reduced and tasted and I didn't like it tasted very medicinal..... I think there were too many shells and not enough fish bits. It smelled lovely but I wasn't risking it giving anything I added it to an aftertaste;).
I've still not completely decided re dinner but roast chicken will feature, I'm swithering between root veg mash or rice or pasta.

Dinner over, thinking back it was sort of Sunday roast chicken dinner, but a lot easier & quicker, mainly because everything was frozen so it was just heating it up really

I reheated my roast chick by wrapping in tin foil & popping it in the steamer about ten minutes ahead of adding the frozen mixed veg. The W/rose chunky ones seem fine, but I only had a hand full

Scratch lunch today (toast and hummus, followed by yogurt and fruit). Can foresee dinner also being scratch - baked potatoes with cheese again I think and salad.

CBA CBA CBA - about the only thing I CBA to do right now is go and kill the first electrician that did work on my house:mad::mad: - or, to be more accurate, it turns out part did it and even left it in a state where I could well have got an electric shock (probably would have:eek:) at some point in the future. Looks like I may have just "cheated death" again for the second time in my life to my knowledge:cool:

There will be wine tonight - and more wine - at the thought of this and the extra bill I've got en route to what I anticipated having:mad:. It's either that or head into my bed/pull the bedclothes over my head to muffle it and scream loudly.....
Yikes money I hope you've got a large one poured ;)

I just opened the cupboard doors, you know that feeling, when you are hoping to discover something magical that can be immediately eaten ... even though you know the cupboard is bare of exciting foods ... and there I saw the bane of a CFO's life.

Those moments when you are eating something a lot, so "stock up" ahead of running out ... and there on the shelf were 48 Weetabix. A whole box of four packs of 12 in a box. 48 ... I went through a phase of eating it because it was quick/easy.

I should get round to eating those again I guess! But not tonight, they're not exciting are they :)

They're actually the L1dl own brand. I have two with a teaspoon of sugar and milk, I've got milk but don't fancy Weetabix right now.

Their own brand work out about 5p each. 48 because that's a way of getting them cheapest. They were probably a 36 box with a "33% free" deal. £1.89 for 48 if that's the case, so they'd have been about 4p each.

No chance..... I do like my food simple and not wrapped in fat and sugar for the sake of it.

There is something nice about two weetabix, in the right sized bowl, with just the right amount of sugar and milk .... just not right now. :)

    Recipe for frustrating hour:

Drop one glass on top of two others.

Clean kitchen floor and play hunt the bits of glass.

    Rinse rice for cooking.

Drop rice when tipping into saucepan.

Clean kitchen floor and play hunt the rice grains.
