Thank you :A I shall defrost in the morning and make a ton of croutons ;)

On the subject of samey meals I don't mind lunch being the same every day almost but not dinner.

My curry was gorgeous I had forgotten how nice it was first time round. I should start labelling things in my freezer like my Mum does. You can open hers and see tubs labelled things like 'V good chicken stock' 'chilli needs kidney beans and more stock' 'excellent beef gravy made by H (my DAD)' or 'stock - needs oomphing up' - She's a star :)

I'm not quite as organised as your Mum (far from it:rotfl:) but if something needs added to something or finished off, I write it on a piece of masking tape and stick it to the bag/tub e.g. I sous vided duck breasts a wee while ago and they've got "V.rare - no seasoning" on the tape. I'd never remember otherwise :o. I never though about tagging things as v.good - like it :D. I love masking tape - use it for all sorts of things mainly in place of "post its" as it doesn't fall off when you stick it to the fridge, my life would be complete chaos without my reminders and little lists on the fridge door!

Caronc I'm the same but use duct tape on plastic takeaway tubs as the writing comes off in the dishwasher and the tape doesn't. Plus I found 8 rolls of it in my late hubby's shed and need to use it for something apart from keeping one of the vacuum's held together :rotfl:

What makes me laugh about Mum and her freezer/fridge is her organisation as she's brilliant and can tell you what's in there down to the last meatball. Everywhere else though is not the same story - you can tell what she's been doing by following the trail around the house which she manages to tidy up by the end of each day. She's also famous for making several arrangements on the same day :D
  • It's when you stick post it notes on the computer Caron that's the thing....

I've taken to doing so - with reminders of one-off type social things for instance. I've got my "regular" social things I do - but have been known to forget about one or two more irregular ones. Hence the post-it notes on my computer.

Which has just reminded me to put another one up there - as I meant to ring my mother today and forgot....whoops...and I know it will be too late (by her standards) to ring her today.

Sounds as though she might have age-activated attention deficit disorder (worth a google ;):rotfl:)

I don't need to label stuff in my freezer as it's so small I can see/remember .... I sliced an onion earlier and used just one slice with my burger, so wrapped the rest in foil and tossed them into the freezer. I'll know they're onions ....

I don't make many meals/things that could be anything.

HH that Italian liver sounds lovely, what's your recipe??

    Ingredients
Liver (just enough for one meal for me) I use lambs liver.
    seasoned flour
    Large knob of butter
    half to one onion
    50 ml lamb/or beef stock
    100ml milk
1 clove garlic (I use a bit more but I like it)
2 tablespoons tomato puree (I quite often use a bit more)

Melt the butter and brown the liver then remove.
In the remaining butter fry the oinions slowly until tender.
Stir in the stock, milk, tomato puree and garlic. Bring to the boil stirring continuously.
Add the liver to the saucepan, cover and cook gently for 10 to 15 minutes until the liver is tender.

I quite often trickly some cream or sour cream over it if I have any in, and will usually use a pinch of mixed dried herbs in it as well.

It's a simple quick and easy recipe.

Ah thanks PN! I've took a screenshot of the photo so next time I'm in one I'll see if they have them...

I had a call today about a job I applied for a couple of weeks ago, night shifts at a certain posh supermarket, he's going to call back on Friday to discuss what they can match me to as I told them my availability has changed. If I take that it'll be my 3rd job!!

It's not a permanent long term plan to have 3 jobs, I'm hoping to drop one of them in September, I just want to make a head start on clearing my debts.
