Breakfast today was the same as yesterday. H/browns, poached egg, beans.

Lunch will be a jacket spud, still 3 to use up + beans as they're open ... and cheese if I CBA.

My last freezer ufo is nearly defrosted and I'm pretty sure that it's bolognese sauce, so dinner will be spaghetti bolognese followed by the jam rolly polly with custard :).

I had porridge for breakfast this morning with some berries. I think it will take me most of the winter to use up the porridge oats, they go a long way when just feeding one.

I haven't had any lunch today, I'm not feeling hungry at the moment. I can always have a crumpet if I want something to eat this afternoon.

I wasn't feeling very well this morning, I think it was going home last night as it was chilly and I had to wait for the bus for ages.
    .

Hope you perk up later, not nice feeling low and just drooping around, but the silver lining of CFO is you can at least suit yourself and do just as you want

Although feeling fine I took one look outside this morning, rain & dank, in no time I had decided
    1. There is plenty of food in
    2. No need to go out
    3. Make a cake :D

Cake was a repeat of last week's success of Tea loaf, and it has turned out just as yummy as last week's. All I need now is HH style of steamed pud making friendly neighbour

While cake was cooking, had last of the crumpets for late breakfast

Lunch was the cheese salad sarnie again

I really do not know what to have for dinner

I have a nuke-able ready meal for one lamb's liver dinner, from Iceland, bought as trial taste a bit back just for this sort of occasion, I could add some steamed fresh veg to, or I could just bung a mini quiche in the mini oven. Both easy options.

Tea cake & butter will also fit in there

Your freezer ufo tales remind me of an occasion in childhood of meat pie with custard! Should have been apple pie but not clearly marked. A great pudding disappointment;)

My gran and mum were big on steamed puddings. Mum used to also steam packet cake mixes by Greens, lemon flavour and orange flavour. Mum had a pressure cooker they'd usually be done in; gran always used a saucepan.

I make them too ... jam roly poly & spotted d***; not often else I'd need the doors widening!

I've always had a pack of suet in the cupboard ... always. Flour I have to think about and buy in, but suet's never had to be thought about!

You can do the cooking in a slow cooker, to just feel free to get on with other things.... it's just an electric simmering saucepan really.

Hollyharvey, how lovely of your neighbour to do that.
    Wednesday, hope you're feeling better.

Brekkie was small amount gf cornflakes with a very ripe banana.
Lunch was out with friends, I had gf bread with cauliflower ,cheese soup. Which I luckily questioned the waitress about the croutons on the soup! They weren't glutenfree !!!!! The soup was changed, and very delicious, expensive esp. As they charged an extra £1 for gf bread!
It was worth it to catch up with my friends.
Dinner is a salmon fillet that I defrosted, I'm thinking with chips ,carrots and broccoli, and hollandaise sauce.

I scoured round for a bit of washing as it looked like another lovely day, but when I went to peg out the next door neighbour was burning rubbish !!

Dinner was the meal for one frozen lamb's liver, came with mash, peas & carrots

It was enough for one, not enough for big appetites but did me, especially as I followed it with stewed apple, Greek yoghurt & honey

I'd buy it again, and having sampled one in the range I can now venture onto the others

I wasn't feeling very well this morning, I think it was going home last night as it was chilly and I had to wait for the bus for ages.

I had some freshly squeezed OJ and lots of hot tea when I got up.

Then I went out for some fresh air and I bought some paracetamol and Lucozade at the shop. I got a baguette and had some slices with a can of tomato and bean soup when I got in.
Hope you feel better, when I was wee if my Mum appeared with Lucozade (which you could only get in the chemist ) you knew you were properly poorly;)

    Did you eat it? :rotfl::rotfl:

My mum used to do this with these too with a sppon of marmalade over the top:D.

Holly - how lovely of your neighbour. She'll be please to know she is doing something back for you:D.

It has turned decidedly chilly here tonight:( though it did stay dry all day:). I didn't get anything done in the garden though as I was waiting for a parcel that needed signing for and I don't always hear the door if I'm out the back. I did get all the passatta sieved though:)

Lunch was something I've not had for ages, mushrooms nuked in a knob of butter with loads of pepper and a splash of Lea&Perrins on toast. I was yum:D.

Tonight I've defrosted a pork steak but I'm still undecided whether to have it sort of chinese-style with rice & pepper or with spuds, veg & gravy. I've both cooked rice & mash in the freezer so either is an easy option:).
