MTSTM - as you've gathered I do like my meat and don't plan to turn veggie though I do eat a fair number of veggie/vegan dishes as well.:)
Mealtimes I'm fairly flexible but do tend to eat regular meals. I find this stops me snacking on junk. I prefer to have my main meal lateish in the evening a legacy of many years of not getting home from work until 7ish and wanting to get any chores done so I could enjoy my meal and relax. I really struggle if I eat before 7pm not to end up feeling hungry later even if I have had a sizeable meal.
Today was hair washing day which always leaves me feeling a bit queasy so I've skipped breakfast and will have a cooked lunch probably bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes around noon:) and that'll keep me going until my chicken dinner later no doubt around 8.30 pm. One of the real joys of CFO for me is choosing what & when I eat:D.
This week will no doubt end up being "rubber" chicken week. Even though I've more meat stashed than I need, I'm a firm believer that if an animal has died for the plate that I use as much as possible so I need to have a think about how I want to make the most of it. As I said in an earlier post I'm going to lop one of the breasts and legs off of it and freeze these before roasting. It's not a big bird so I'll probably eat the remaining leg tonight leaving me with the wings , one breast, carcass pickings and the carcass itself which I'll make stock from so quite a few potential meals. I'm also likely to have LO veg so tomorrow may well be bubble & squeak with chicken & LO gravy. Now the gardening season is over it's time to get back into cooking and given my freezer situation I really do need to meal plan, something I've really struggled with over the last year but I've paid a lot of money for my food hoard so want to get the most from it:D0 -

For me, it's breakfast as soon as I get up, wether that's 6 am or 10.
Lunch I prefer to be between 11.30 and 1 pm, having said that today's has already been eaten:eek:
Due to being out last night, and needing the copious amount of wine soaking up.
It was toast for brekkie, then lunch was a thin with salad and piri piri chicken, a pkt of smoky bacon crisp and a raspberry rice pud.:j
Dinner would then be between 4.30 and 6pm.
I don't like to eat late, and going for a meal booked for 8 PM isn't good, as by the time you are served it getting really late. Meals out I prefer at 7 pm or 7.30pm.
I think everyone has different ideas about food some people really enjoy it others only eat for fuel.
My dgson is here today , so he had bacon and sausage.🐷 no egg as I had none in!
Ham salad thin for lunch his is still in fridge till he's ready!!
Then we're having chicken arrabattia, carrots and green beans, and dgson wants roast pots.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

:eek:Confession I have 3 freezers:eek:
I have fridge freezer in house, which has 3 drawers,my gluten free stuff is in there, 1 drawer just for bread which comes in box of 8.
In the garage I have 1 tall freezer with 5 compartments, and a small 3 drawer one that used to only be put on when it was Xmas to hold the food.now the small one is used to hold the cat food:eek: I raw feed him and buy in bulk online, at the moment there is overflow of chicks in the bottom 2 drawers of big freezer!!!
To be honest when I split up the cats food I portion into takeaway cartons and the take up quite a bit of room, I need to look into better storage I think.
All freezers have recently been defrosted, and I need to sort the garage ones out .I know where everything is in each drawer but could do with a tidy.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

ETA - Have you thought about getting a vacuum packer for storing the cat's food? Aldi/Lidl quite often have them on special. They would take up much less room and it definitely prolongs the life of items and more or less elimanates freezer burn0 -
For lunch I had a jacket spud (because I bought a 2.5Kg bag of baking spuds and there were 10 in it, about half way through now) .... topped with curried beans.
I expect to eat that again in the next 2-3 days to finish off the beans and to get through another spud.0 -

I certainly couldn't stick to rigid meal times, but respect your desire to do so. I like to have flexibility in my day and life in general so my meal times do very quite a lot. I don't have set times or strong views on when meals should be eaten.
Ditto, each to their own, If I am out or visiting then I go with the flow for meals and not the clock. I skip meals if not hungry, or have two close together if I am
Had a good night's kip after yesterday's early wake up. plus I did binge watch 6 episodes of Duchess of Duke Street last night
Nothing much to report on YS hunt, bag of grotty looking bananas, but it is only skin deep. I forgot to buy sugar, I was intending to make some Ginger marmalade using a Mamade kit, fail, try another day
One success, I found the missing jar of honey, stashed behind the Ma made tin :T
Lunch was last of the PB baguettes, with corned beef & onion filling today
Having failed in marmalade making I decide to use the scrumped apples from next door. I stewed them. That & the bananas should see me through most of next week
Dinner is some sort of bubble & squeak / corned beef hash using my LOs, possibly with a couple of fried eggs and just maybe baked beansEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I've got another unidentified meal from the freezer defrosting. It looks like either chicken, turkey or beef goulash (it would when it's a nice warm sunny day here!). Whatever it is, it means that there are only three things left that are not labelled
.
I found some soda bread in the freezer last week and had some of that toasted with honey for breakfast. I had forgotten how nice it is lightly toasted.
Lunch was just some Greek yoghurt with a banana, I didn't fancy much today and the banana needed using up.
I need to go through the fridge tonight and see what veg is in there that needs using up. I think there may also be some salad bits that won't last much longer.0 -
The unexpected expense plague may strike here soon. Noticed my gas boiler water pressure keeps dropping. The boiler is over 7 years old, and general consensus is modern boilers have life expectancy of about 10 years
I think I may need a replacement pressure vessel, or relief valve,or both
Luckily I have the funds so will get it fixed before I really need the heating onEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
