    Good morning ladies,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas?
My weight is fluctuating up and down with the delicious food I am eating here, it would be rude to refuse 😛 I need to continue with the challenges Knit witch, but can I set my next target nearer the 6th please?

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year🍾🍾

Today is when I try to get back into losing weight mood. It all starts in the mind doesn't it? I am hoping that I will have lost something by my first WI next Friday.

Here we go again ....tra la la.
I believe that friends are quiet angels

  • Hopped on the scales this morning and have actually lost half a kilo over the whole Festive period, how I really don't know but I'll take it and be happy!

I can hear the determination in your words TT.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and a good rest.

Nearly had a disaster on Ch Day. (I grow a few free range bronze turkeys for the Christmas market) I kept the largest one for myself but it wouldn't fit in the oven at 30lb. Fortunately I had a smaller one that hadn't been collected so we cooked that.
The next disaster that nearly happened was that when I was draining off the juice from around the turkey I managed to get it all over the electrics of the oven so it threw a wobbly and refused to continue cooking. The small oven attached to the Ironheart woodburner saved the day together with a very sharp knife, a good laugh, another drink and a DH who just happens to be good at dissection.

I still haven't lost all the weight I put on over the holiday!!!!

I didn't cook a 30 lb turkey when I had children and inlaws , cousins and aunts all at once!! (A few years ago now)...what do you do with it all?

Still practising....DH wants hm cheesecake....if I make a tiny one for the 1st, it will be gone by the 2nd......

Just recieved a packet from UK containing cream cakes!...dated 22nd dec and requiring refridgeration:eek:
So fortunately for my figure, they have gone promptly in the food waste....gifter must have had a doolally moment...I will not be saying anything other than thank you, of course.

I don't know if I've fallen down a rabbit hole or I'm living in the twilight zone but when I hopped on the scales this morning I've lost 1lb! How?
To be fair it's been a bit hectic; parents in law have been in and out of hospital for months, dad was home just before Christmas, then mum was taken in late Christmas day, kept in overnight so we collected her boxing day. Every time that phone rings we think "what now?"
Back at work Wednesday, retail the day after boxing day anyone? Fun times. Added to that I've got a cold BUT it's the first one I've had since I was spectacularly ill earlier in the year, so the fact that it hasn't developed in the same way is a bonus! It's actually just s cold and it's nearly gone now so yay.
Running about visiting relatives, friends coming round, emergency grandchild sitting, just life really.
I've eaten the usual Christmas goodies, after eights, lemon drizzle cake, marzipan fruits and still lost a pound! The only thing different I've done is started taking apple cider vinegar every day. I read somewhere that it's very good for gargling when you have a sore throat so I thought I'd give it a go. I put a spoonful in a cup, add some lemon juice and hot water, gargle then drink the rest. I'm sure I read somewhere it helps with weight loss so who knows? (Mind you it tastes disgusting)
Anyway, I'll carry on with the apple cider vinegar regime and report back. I'm sure I'll still be joining the challenge next time round , just not sure how much yet!

Happy New Year to you all x

  • I’m back. I stepped on the scales this morning and nearly died of horror. I’ve the 11st mark for the first time in 3 years. Oh the shame of it.

I’m going to weigh in properly on Monday and count from then but I’ll definitely be going for 18lbs. I’ve 12 weeks that should be doable as long as I stop eating and get my arris to the gym. Not likely to happen in the next couple of days for various reasons but I will conquer this.

Apart from anything else, I’m ‘hoping’ to go skiing in early Feb so I have to lose enough to get into my saloppettes.
