    Thanks Courgette, am feeling much better.

    Today has been my 'me day' and after reading about self care I realise what I'm doing all falls under that category:
    * dentist appointment for me (and DD1). Booked hygienist for April
    * osteopath appointment to deal with niggling back complaints (which got unbearable after a couple of days in bed). Was quite interventive, really feeling it this evening!
    * bra fitting and three new bras bought. 20% off + staff discount

    In addition:
    * Throws and last couple of cushions bought from Primarni for the living room. The room is really coming together and the throws are sooo enormous, we can all fit under one! They are super snuggly and easy to machine wash.
    * New swimsuit bought for DD2, her last one lasted from 1 year and we always get the SPF ones to save on stressing about suntan lotion, for most of the body at least. Bought one size up. £5 staff discount. A job off the list as I want to take kids swimming when we're on holiday. She is so excited she's currently wearing it round the house :rotfl:

    Walls finished in living room, dining room, and bathroom. One more coat needed in the kitchen, then hopefully onto woodwork this weekend.

    The place is in chaos and we need a couple of tip and charity runs on the weekend to get things out the way. Aim is to have it cleared and paint stuff away by Wednesday night so the cleaner can deep clean on Thursday.

    I've closed the window on the expensive house plants and am going to get the couple of quid jobs from Ikea over the weekend which will help keep costs down.

    Cheap print of a vintage poster ordered via etzy for living room, and we're going to squeeze it into cheap Ikea frame to avoid framing costs. It's not a forever solution, but will work whilst we keep an eye out for the perfect artwork (OH has been looking for 2 years so I think it'll end up on the walls for quite a while!)

    Wow, you have really been ploughing through your jobs list! Congrats, I bet you will feel great once everything is done and you can relax and enjoy it.

    Although, as others have said, make sure you have time for yourself too x

    My only concern is that there is no end of the list! :rotfl: But feels good to know that some of my jobs are actually caring for myself.

    This time next week we will be in Finland :eek::j!

    Dropped DS at school and had a sunny couple of hours with DD2 in the park. I did give in to her super sweet request for a £2.50 ice cream though :o.

    Bag dropped at charity, and a Lego tshirt bought for DS for £1. I should have enough t shirts for him now, he's been squeezing into the same ones for 2 years but he's just shot up and the midriff on show is never a good look :rotfl:.

    I've got some ys beef stewing with premium gravy (reduced from £2.80 to 60p) as the sauce. Another two things out the freezer :j. We still have £90 left in our grocery budget so hoping a few small top up shops will help us keep the costs down (and freezer empty!)

    We have quite a lot to get done this weekend so hoping this list will help focus the mind:
    * [STRIKE]swimming DS[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]Party 1 DS[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]Party 2 DS[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]annual concert DD1[/STRIKE]

    * [STRIKE]charity run[/STRIKE]

    * [STRIKE]woodwork x [STRIKE]4[/STRIKE] 2 rooms :eek::eek:[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]IKEA - frame, plants, pots, duvet for DD2, candles[/STRIKE]
    * Collect order Mr A
    * update house manual
    * check key situation with neighbours seem ok with it but will confirm arrival time

    And our new cleaner has quit after only one session :eek: :eek:!

    Beginning to take it personally :rotfl:.

    Will book in a one off clean via agency and start the hunt again when we're back.

    Oh no, did they give a reason? What an utter nightmare.

    Their circumstances have changed...

    I've looked at a one off clean via the agency but it was at least £16 an hour :eek::eek: plus they were hacking me off as I couldn't cancel online the booked sessions with the first cleaner who quit so I've decided to do the clean this week myself :rotfl::rotfl:.

    It will save at least £40, but it's a busy week so a bit :eek: about fitting everything in.

    DD1 concert v good. Glad didn't buy the £2 programme as she wanted to come home during the interval.

    Phew, we really could have done with that extra hour this weekend!

    We've done many of the jobs - painting, charity, tip, parties, swimming, concert, IKEA, ALL the laundry... also tidied front and back gardens :A. Had ys pork rack roast from freezer which was delicious, alongside veg that needed using up from the fridge and freezer. There are still two servings left so lunch for tomorrow is sorted.

    But kids not in bed til 930 so House manual will have to wait. Great news is an evening event I was due to attend tomorrow has been cancelled, so I have an extra evening back. :j

    Tomorrow we'll put the last few books back on the living room shelves, and put all the paint stuff away.

    Our Ikea trip went over budget (are you surprised?) but our living room is now looking *almost* perfect. We found the perfect lamp for our new reading nook which makes the whole corner work, and a beautiful new pendant lampshade has been the finishing touch. I love it so much, I just want to stay at home and turn the light on and off to admire it. All day. :rotfl:. A £2 ivy finished off one set of shelves brilliantly but the rest of the plant offer was a bit rubbish so still in need of a small plant for the other shelf. We also did a return for £14 back.

    Tomorrow:
    * lunch from stores
    * get £4 tray from tiger for DD2 hair things
    * collect order from mr A
    * meatball dinner from freezer
    * walk to and from tube to save on bus fare
    * house manual
    * complete DD1 music form
    * drink water
    * take supps
    * stick to diet
    * thank you texts for parties

    Yes, I can see why you need to take supplements! I'm tired just reading your achievements from the weekend, and I thought I'd done pretty well in the garden!

    Totally get you on the reading light - I shouldn't admit this but when I cleaned my fridge last week I kept popping back to look at it! :rotfl:

    Nowt wrong with a bit of clean fridge watching :rotfl:! When I cleared out my DSis pantry the other week, the first thing she did the next morning was open the doors and stare at the clean bare cupboards for a few minutes :rotfl:.

    We've arrived in our Finnish house swap and it's a lovely. Beautiful sunlight streaming through the windows and I can see forests and snow from every window. Really well insulated, had to turn the heating off as we were so warm :rotfl:. We've found the nearest Lidl and got a shop in, tons of Lego for DS and DD2 pottering around playing.

    I only had 45 mins sleep in 40 hours :eek: and didn't have great first night here either so now on couch just enjoying the light. Hoping to get out to a nearby playground soon, then easy dinner and will try out the sauna tonight :D.

    DS had a diagnosis a couple of weeks ago so I've signed up for local support groups, and enrolled on free online course to understand better his condition. Great to finally have the time and headspace to do so.
