I am half tempted to go into Currys/PCW and pretend to want to buy the expensive computer there and then once they've printed everything off, say I want to check it over and sit there and read all the pages and then tell them to stick it just to watch the sales persons face drop:j

Which would be a waste of time as they don't offer it anymore, and have not done for a while.

Infinity is not offered. The scheme is called Upgrade Anytime now and it was 2 years ago. It would give me great pleasure to spend an hour in Currys making the sales staff miserable :rotfl:

We have the Misrepresentation act 1967 - If you walk into a shop called Currys/PC World and get served by a person wearing that shop's uniform, then surely most consumers would think that the sales person will be truthful and actually works for a company on their name badge.

I think we would all like to think they would be but perhaps be aware that they might not be. They want to sell as much as possible.

Proving misleading action is the hard part really.

    What did CAB say?

    Ands my comment still stands.

Upgrade Anytime is no longer offered to new consumers, it has been withdrawn, and the only time you can take out leasing is if you are an existing customer, upgrading your hardware at the end of the contract, or a business customer going through the Rentsmart for business leasing.

    Hi all,

The CAB - Didn't bother contacting them.

I used Resolver instead addressing my complaint towards Currys/PCW rather than Rentsmart Ltd. Yesterday morning a lady from Dixons Group called to say they'd be refunding me back the £45.29 which was the payment made in store on signing day. She didn't say why. I didn't ask why. Perhaps I put across a valid point on Resolver about contract wording being misleading :T:rotfl:

Prior to receiving that phone call, I filled in a complaint form on the FOS site regarding Rentsmart Ltd which I will carry on with because I believe the contracts which I signed do not have the information on which the CCA 1974 says they should have. I have complained directly to Rentsmart regarding mis-selling, dodgy contract wording and their attitude towards their customers is unprofessional

    Cheers for now x
