Smoke and mirrors at its very best !! Typical Sky. Just worked out that if I drop footy, golf, boxing etc and just keep cricket, rugger and F1 I'll save ...............£1.50 pm on list prices WOW!!
I'll just keep on with current tactics - cancel at the end of the current deal and wait for the best offer. :)
  • I haggled a new deal 2 months ago after I handed in my notice of intent to leave sky as my subscription was coming to an end and was going to Virgin Media. After a week or so of telling them I was leaving they begged me to stay.
Well I was paying £35 a Month for original package and having a box in my bedroom they offered me a deal to choose any package for half price for 12 months so I kept my original package and added sky sports and cancelled the bedroom one and got it all for £25.05 per month for 12 months. Now this new deal they are bringing out does this mean I will lose out I only watch football and F1.

Damn, I was hoping the £18 minimum they originally mentioned was for the basic TV package which would have meant cheaper prices for everyone. Should have known better.

Typical, so if we want the stuff we actually watch, we have to subscribe to the full bundle.

Reading further, seems to me that the aim is to undermine BT packages -for Sky subscribers makes little (or no)difference!

No, what it means is that you can keep watching all the sports on the sports package or, if theres only certain sports you are interested in you can chose to subscribe to that/those channels instead. There are 3 options to choose, 3 different prices. The idea is to tailor it to what you want to see.

Does anyone know if one still has to subscribe to the base entertainment pack to get this? Whatever 'this' is?

It's certain that Sky won't be allowing anyone to subscribe to solely one or two channels and nothing else.
