I was on Vodafone pay as you go, I put £30 on it several years ago & it's still going.

I've had this issue too.... decided against the offer of the voda sim with £10 on it when I (finally - they bury them very deeply) found the call charges, they were

Talktalk sim on the way, 200 mins, unlimited txt and 500meg data each month, free with renewing my TT BB/phone package :)

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

you will always get a better deal from a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) rather than direct from the four UK mobile networks – EE*, Three, O2* and Vodafone*
this may help the OP chose a provider using Vodafone

calls are 35p a min...i guess i might have to use them as no other provider seems to work here

not that i use it alot ...but it would sting to make a few calls

Anyone know if Voda do bog standard PAYG, not a monthly bundle? I looked on their web site but if they do it must be well hidden.

I will be ex Talkmobile and bog standard "hardly use even at 30p" would do me if it does not die after a month of non use or not topping up
    Numerus non sum

If your phone is locked to voda your choices are limited

If unlocked try someone like Asda on EE

they do , i asked for help on the online chat thing , its the free sim you want then top up once you have it , credit doesnt expire

the prices are a bit rude for me , lebara is via the voda network and a little bit cheaper on calls , was hoping there was something else
