Well i can honestly say i am pleasently surprised by o2 broadband.
I already had my mac code to swop broadband companies, i entered my details online at about 9pm one evening. The following morning at 9.20am i had a txt/email saying my provisional activasion date would be etc.
Two days later the wireless box arrived, on the activasion date my old isp stopped working then 2 hours later i got a txt saying my o2 broadband had been activated and was ready for me to setup my wireless router.
From ordering to migrating to another isp took 8 days in total.
Instalation/setup on my pc was a doddle everything was done from the setup cd, even seting up microsoft outlook for the email.
I cant comment about the customer services as i havent needed to call them!
Im getting 4mb download and 0.9 upload, double what i was getting with aol, and all for £7.50 for customers with an o2 mobile contract.
From my experience so far i would definately recommend it, well done o20 -
Hi Folks, Have been trying to find out the network coverage for o2 broadband. As a o2 pay monthly moblie customer, the prices look really good but when you put in your landline phone number, it says not available yet!
I live in the north west of england. Anybody on o2 broadband yet?0 -
You can check if its available in your area here:

I know its available in my area (Tameside) but not in my girlfreinds which is Trafford.
I think they only have around 50% coverage at the moment. Ring them to make sure.0 -
Thanks for that. I did send them an email a week ago but nothing yet. I'll ring them up.Freephone number yeh!0

Another ISP called BE is owned by O2 Group and offers similar value for money on their non mobile packages. eg. you can get upto 24Mb for £18 pm with no minimum contract period and unlimited usage.
I'm interested in getting this when I leave rip-off Pipex.0 -
Still not as good ay my free anytime local, national and international calls & 8mbit broadband for £10.50/month (including line rental) ;-)0

BE yet another one not available on our exchange!!!Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
O2 dont give, they only lend you a speedtouch 780wl router.
this is free while you continue to take their broadband, and will be fixed or replaced free of charge if anything goes wrong with it too.
When you cancel you haveto send it back or they will charge you £50.0 -
Really need some help as Im a bit of a novice at this. have just taken out an o2 phone contract and their broadband deal looks good for customers . I am unsure which speed required, I have tried keying in my telephone number and it gives me a speed of 5.5 however I live 1.3 miles from the exchange and Sky said I would get 8 - 16 meg (may not be the best advice tho). I dont want to pay for a package with speed I cant use and am so new to this I may not understand speeds properly. I have two sky plus boxes on my phone line at the moment, does this make any difference?
Any info for a complete novice would be geatly appreciated.0
