sorry to hear about your troubles DG, cyberspace can bea funny old place sometimes eh. Whoever it is giving you stick in this alternative world should just be ignored, they don't mean anything to you, so don't let it get you down.

In addition to the comments made about how to handle such incidents, i strongly disagree with the suggestion of board members being able to vote to ban other board users, whether the users are abusing the system or not. To me it stinks of the old days of lynching and mob rule - sorry if that seems a little dramatic but even on this thread some comments have been misinterpreted/misunderstood such as those made by David3511 and as like the examples of comments made by Squatnow - which to me sounded like a bit of harmless ribbing, not a serious character slating nor serious threat. It could become too easy to act first and think later. Surely the best thing to do for anyone receiving threatening PMs or stalked or whatever, is to go through the proper channels of reporting the offending user.

Anyway, most of you have some interesting points to make, so, y'know, carry on

Making a post along the lines of "but you brought in on yourself" doesn't seem to fit with either Doozer's track record or this forum.

I dodn't believe I should need to do this as I feel my first post made it clear how I feel about abusine PM's but just to clarify, PM's should never be used for anything other than what would be welcomed by the recipiant. Anything have to say I will say in an open forum.

Perhaps you should try taking what I say at face value instead of trying to put a slant on my words that isn't there. The fact that I am new to this forum makes my impression of it no less valid than yours or anyone elses.

The whole tone of my post suggests I had a problem with the originator of this topic but that I think PM's abusing her in any way are out of order. I cannot think I can put that more simply. I will try to keep it breif as judging by this forum so far, someone will read something into my words that were not intended.

As for my posts that were removed, that was ridiculous in the extreme and suggested to me someone on here knows how to pull the forum strings far better than I.

Hi Doozergirl

Unless you think there is some way these people PMing you can actually find out who you are and where you are, I would just ignore them. I am in the process of setting up a window cleaning round (don't snigger, it is actually very well paid) and every two or so days I get a threatning phone call. For example one text I got just today will give you an idea of the calibre of the person I am dealing with (who knows my real name and address) - "Hey listen mate, 1 ov customers giv me 1 ov ur leaflets,a little advise.Dnt bova stepinon my patch again. ok m8"

These people are cowards, same as your PMers. One of the past threatners phoned my wife and told her there would be big trouble if I didn't back off. I tracked him down and you should have seen him run (literally, down the street) when I asked him to show me the 'big trouble'.
