Nearly debt free diary

BLACK FRIDAY SALES. EVERYWHERE!!!!
My laptop is officially dead. My dad tried to fix it but to no avail
I don’t know whether to just bite the bullet and buy one in the Black Friday sale.. it would have to go on my Credit Card but I use my laptop on a daily basis. It’s where all my spreadsheets are, I use it to keep up with my work training. It is a struggle without it.0 -
I think it is fair to say in this day and age that a laptop is a necessity. I know you don't want to put anything on the credit card, but this is very important.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Don't do it!

Deals will come up again all throughout the year. Boxing day/January etc.
Save first, it will feel so much better it not being a 'debt' x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Thank you! I haven’t done it yet, I just don’t know how long I will be able to go without one. x0

I was going to look at my budget and work out what money needs to be allocated where, then I realised my spreadsheet is on my laptop

Need to also make sure I don’t burn through November’s pay as there is a big gap from when I get paid in December to January (5 weeks!) I would ideally like £100 left from my November pay to help between Dec-Jan!0 -
I'm using my OH very big computer screen, trying to adjust my eyes to it.
Plans for today are:
- shopping for the week for less than £40 (all we have left in the shopping budget)
- friends birthday meal/drinks for £30
I also need to re-do my budget spreadsheet. I'm trying to revive my laptop, but this is a work in progress..0 -
The shopping came to £43.26. £3.26 higher than I wanted. I had enough change in my purse to cover it but we did have to buy razors, shaving cream and deodorants which did add £9.50 onto the food shop.
As well as losing my laptop I’ve also managed to lock myself out my online bank account. This week is going well

Made it through my friends meal and drinks. I spent £15.30 at the meal and then £4.55 on a taxi home.
£10 is back in my treat envelope and needs to last me until Wednesday. I’m hoping that I won’t spend any of it.
Plans this week:
- make it to Wednesday without using the credit card
- figure out a way to rebudget on my mobile phone as my laptop is dead.
- get a list together of Christmas presents left to buy
- write out Christmas cards
- go gym classes on: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.0 -
Sunday's are always so relaxing and another NSD.
Day 4 of trying to get my laptop to work and.. nothing.
I'm currently on my OH's computer as we.. speak? Type? Go about our MSE business? I've decided I am not going to get another laptop yet, I'm going to wait until I'm debt free. I'm using this as my motivation to try and pay it down as soon as possible. Most of the stuff I use my laptop for can be done on my OH's computer or I can use my mobile phone. Also, if I don't have my laptop then I can't go round looking at any more holidays or do online shopping!
Today I did a 30 minute walk to the gym, an hour in the gym and a 30 minute walk home. It was nice to get out the house for a bit, I always feel better after exercising and now have a good exercise routine. I just need to work on the healthy eating side of things and I'll have abs in no time..
Me and OH are doing our final bits of Christmas shopping next Sunday. We live within walking distance of our big shopping centre which has all the stores we need to go to so at least we don't have to pay for parking. We may have to pay for either brunch or lunch as we'll probably be out the majority of the day but we've cut back on going out for food the past couple of months and it will be nice having a day with just the two of us.
Prolific has slowed down on the surveys so I have £3.88 in that but need a few more before I can cash out. Nothing on top cashback either.
My parents and my sister have got me very practical Christmas gifts this year (new trainers for the gym and new running leggings) so this is about £150 that I have 'saved'. I've also gone through my gym wear and I just need one more sports bra and I won't need to buy any gym stuff. Hoping to grab a sports bra in the JD sale after Christmas using my voucher from my birthday.
Me and my OH are also going to his parents for Christmas now from Christmas Eve and returning Boxing Day so we don't need to pay for any Christmas food. We will need £20 in petrol for the round trip but it's worth it. We are also going to my parents on New Years Day so that's another expensive day down with no costs! We've decided to buy a nice pizza from Aldi or ASDA and do NYE at home.
Although our anniversary is on New Years Day and last year we did the whole expensive London show, hotel, meal and winter wonderland so this time we agreed to do nothing!0 -
I feel like this diary is going.. well? It feels like I’m talking to myself (which is fine, I do this on a daily basis
)
I’ve spent 90p on orange juice for the week rather than buying individual juice. I may also buy a big bottle of pop for £1 and put it in the work fridge rather than buy individual bottles!!
Still having problems with my laptop, I’ve given up!!0
