We are going on this trip with Saga in September the flights have been changed and we now land in Frankfurt have 1hour to get the next flight to split, it's a 2hour stop in Frankfurt on the way back
This is the first time with Saga and can't say I am pleased with the flights but we are looking forward to Croatia.

Tough luck with the flights, but I doubt whether Saga will have been that impressed either. Were the flights from/to LGW to Split with easyJet?

We did the Jewels of Croatia in April this year, and were very impressed from start to finish.....it was our first time as Saga Louts too.:)

We were impressed with our first Saga holiday, particularly as we had to ring up to change it, as DS was coming over from the USA for work on the date we had originally booked.

I like that some many excursions are included, then there are options. We've also done Vietnam and China Rediscovered with them.

For the last two years, we've used Archers. They have some very interesting American tours. Their hotels have improved enormously, too.

Would love to know the price you paid for

    USA
    China

Saga definitely isn't a money saving option, unless you are able to travel at any time and take advantage of some very good vfm deals.....the Jewels of Croatia trip we did in April being a very good deal. But their target market are older people, a lot of whom are getting past or are past DIY, and they are well looked after from start to finish.

We are usually DIY travellers, but because of that I tend to book accommodation quite low down the price scale. The 3 hotels we stayed in Croatia with Saga were excellent, it made a nice change, plus the tour itinerary suited us.

We're using them again in November, 3 weeks doing not a right lot on the Costa Blanca. We've got an excellent deal.

We enjoy DIY and the flexibility it offers far too much for our regular trips to the Far Flung to even consider doing an organised tour, which briefly scanning them are out of my price range.

Thought as much over these last 30 years...;)

I can see the clientelle using them for "Far flung" trips (Even thought DIY to the above places is very easy).
However why do you go to Costa Blanca with them?

Surely DIY would be cheaper-if not the same and you would not be with a group of 90 year olds

Kaktus Hotel, Albir.....very good hotel, very good reviews. I did the comparison like-for-like bit before booking. The Saga package we got also includes a lot more than than any comparison booking site would do.

If we'd decided on DIY I'd have gone down market.....I always do.

Pete, your holiday sounds fantastic. I'm assuming the price you gave was PP? Croatia is on our shortlist for next year.

    Yep, per person.

We're back in Split on 26 September for a couple of nights, and then getting a bus into Bosnia & Herzegovina. Got 4 nights in Mostar and then 8 Nights in Sarajevo, using both as bases for day trips to the surrounding towns and beautiful countryside. Then return for our final 2 nights in Split.

We're DIY on that trip, so keeping the costs down.

Next spring, another DIY to neighbouring Montenegro is on the cards.

We are going on this trip at the beginning of September from Manchester and have to fly to Frankfurt and change flights with one hour to do this. Never having to do this before we are rather worried about it and wondered if any one as done this? This is the first time with Saga.
