I've had one 2 years then another 11 months
Ok, if you are not going to listen to people's explanations, why don't you start a small claim court action against whoever supplied your most recent kettle?

Please keep this thread updated with your progress.

By the way, the minimum fee for filing a claim is £25.
You best make sure you are suing the right people and that you win your case, hadn't you?
  • Your the only one I'm listening to wealdroam. Its the others being rude.

You paid for a kettle. You have had use of a kettle for 2 years 11 months. The fact that they replaced it is irrelevant, your original contract still stands.

Does it, though? The kettle OP bought from eBay isn't the same kettle that is now leaking. If they went back to the eBay seller 11 months ago, and the seller referred them to Swan, then I'd agree that it's the same contract. But they didn't. They went directly to Swan off their own back.

As I understand it, the original seller no longer has any liability, since OP no longer has the kettle they sold, and they weren't given the opportunity to rectify the original fault. And Sony have no liability, because their only obligation was based on the manufacturers warranty, which has now expired.

As it stands, I don't believe OP has any right to a remedy from either Swan or the original seller, be it under SoGA or anything else.

Yes, I agree. Sony have no liability. Do they even make kettles? ;)

I'm not even going to bother correcting it. Sony have as much liability as anybody else as far as I can tell.

If it was me I would throw the kettle away and buy another brand.

kettles are not made to last anymore

I also agree with others who say although the kettle was replaced the original contract stands so it is nearly 3 years old
