Ebico RHE
Well the recent thread on the Ebico/RHE/SSE split has been closed?
I switched to Ebico Zero in April and entered gas reading but no record of readings seem to be kept so far and am awaiting first quarterly bill which is "being prepared".
The account info so far is virtually non existent, other than tariff charge. my question is:
When you are with them a bit longer, can you enter readings to get an up to date cost of use anytime, regardless of whether your bill is due ?

I changed before you and I've been sending meter readings every 2 - 3 weeks, so they can build up a picture of my usage. I send them to my account on their web site. Not had a bill yet, should be one soon. Did you get a welcome pack? Have you got an account number? Have you been sending your readings?

Yes I've got all that. I sent a reading ages ago but they never show up in my online account. There's supposed to be a record of them That's what I'm asking
of someone whos been with them a while.0 -

No, I don't believe so.
But any readings you do provide willl help to improve the accuracy of any estimated readings they may need to make for billing purposes.
But with only a unit charge to worry about (no standing charges, no other discounts or surcharges) it's a very simple calculation to make for youself if you want to know the cost of what you have consumed0 -
I've just checked my account. I've four readings on my gas history, but only one on my electricity history. Don't know why that is because I send them both at the same time.

PS. Just sent Ebico an email asking why.I love skip diving.0 -
I too switched in April. I've noticed that if I put in my readings online that the electricity reading shows up immediately but the gas reading takes from a few hours to a few days to show. This time of year my gas consumption is 4 or 5 units a month so I imagine the computer thinks its too low and checks it somehow, hence the delay.
I've been wondering about billing dates so I've kept an eye on my bills page but it just says 'your next bill is being prepared'. I think that's just a generic comment that is always there.

You should get a request for a meter reading 7 days before bill generation date, reminder sent by your communication method (post/email/sms).
Think the gas meter reads are now getting extra validation from the Nexus update0 -

Yes, a shame that active thread was closed. I wonder if anyone has contacted the moderating team.
My recent experience might be relevant: I received a rather strange phone call from Ebico about my energy supplier and I told them that I was now with Scottish Power. They then apologised and hung up. The last time I contacted Ebico was to tell them that I was staying with S.S.E. So it's a reasonable assumption that Ebico are contacting customers who have stayed with S.S.E. to drum up business for R.H.E. Therefore the changeover from S.S.E. to R.H.E. may not yet be complete and therefore delay is the inevitable outcome.
One also must wonder what the outcome will be if R.H.E. have not poached the number of S.S.E. customers they were expecting resulting in a low take-up.0 -
Last week I updated my Ebico/RHE online account with electricity and gas meter readings for the first quarter's usage following my 23rd March '17 switching date.
Yesterday I noticed that my first online bill had been prepared and was available to view from my Inbox. Everything in the bill was as expected with regard to usage and charges, so relieved to find that to be the case.
As noted elsewhere, it was disconcerting to find that entered readings don't always appear to update and display immediately leading one to doubt they've been accepted. My initial changeover gas reading took quite some days to show (it was awaiting independent validation apparently) and even my latest gas meter entry wasn't displayed straight away. Both sets of my electricity meter readings showed just seconds after inputting values.
There is a fleeting "Successful Update" (or similar) message when entering new readings, but a permanent message notifying users that their updated readings may not show up on their account for a while would provide further reassurance
BTW, I haven't so far received any prompt directly from Ebico/RHE about the need to provide readings for a first quarterly bill - I was just mindful that 3 months had elapsed since my switchover.Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants (Epictetus)0
