Absolutely. We can't realistically increase levels of pay to allow people to comfortably work and live in London, so if pay can't increase then other things have to decrease. Just a question of when rather than if in my view.0 -

You can find dear places to live; you can find affordable homes too; often not so far apart.
London is maybe a victim of it's own global success. Go to Vancouver. You see the same pressures on housing and associated rental costs there.0 -

Again, I don't see how Crossrail would in and of itself be a solution.
Free or subsidised public transport for PS workers might help, I believe the Met and the BTP help with the rail travel of its Officers into London quite successfully.
That said, when you're struggling to recruit and retain staff nationwide it can't be all about London and the South-East.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
