    Thanks Purple & Coastal.

Sister popped round today with some good news. She had finally listened to Mum and me telling her to return a letter from her bank suggesting she was missold PPI. She finally returned it and guess what she is getting £1400 back.. couldn't happen to a nicer girl (not biased :o) and she doesn't earn a lot so she has plans to do up her house.

Managed to go for a short run with pup and tidied my Mum's house. Plans tomorrow - yoga, take pup to groomers and ironing.

    Morning :)

I think these diaries are not only for money saving but also to keep you company when you can't sleep :o. I've been up early thinking of ways of reducing the debt. I have to walk a balance between my old all or nothing approach and a nice chipping away at debt method. Putting my new thoughts down here so I remember what the plan is. I have my Xmas money saved up for this year and then from January I usually start again with £50 put away each month. I'm going to put a hold on that £50 and put it towards the credit card. Once I'm debt free in April/May I will then start the £50 back to the Xmas budget.

The plan is that from Dec pay I will pay-

£350 towards Car (have been overpaying from the start of loan).
£150 towards Credit card (+ any PADs)

Now I wish I could bring it forward to April but realistically I don't have a spare £500 floating about that I haven't thought of but either way it means that my car loan is paid of in under 2 years rather than 3 years of the loan term.

Debt at moment (blagh:() - £4450 - £450 (Nov) & - £1000 (deposit thing matures in January) then £500 from Dec onwards equals = Debt free date - May 18

Ok need get myself moving as I have yoga at 9.30.

Thanks Purple - you never know what life throws at you but plan should be ok.

While resting in yoga I was thinking it would be nice to see the debt free dates for both debts so -

    Car debt - Currently £2965.25 - (£1500 jan) - (£350 x 4.2) = Debt cleared 1st March 2018.

    Credit card - Currently £1484:o - £100 (Nov) - (£150 x 3 D, J, F) -(£435 March) - (£499 April) = Debt Free 1st April 18

It is absolutely bucketing it down outside.
  • All going well on the debt busting planning front Munchin. Good news as well for your sister - amazing what returning a letter can do!:T

Your goals for the debt look doable, keeping a diary certainly keeps us accountable doesn't it :)

    Morning

HHD - thank you. Yes tracking my spends is very eye opening especially when I look back at end of month & see things I really didn’t need :o.

Today is going to be a very long day. I have work to 5 & then a therapy appt at 6 and then at 7 I’m going to my volunteer thing so will not be home until about 10pm tonight. I’ve also got a lunchtime seminar scheduled so can’t even get a break then but days like this don’t happen often.

Last night I was at my sisters for nephews birthday (sweet 16) & I still got a hug from him...but don’t tell anyone, he’s cool 😎 you know 😂

OH is coping at moment by being constantly busy which is good but will have to keep an eye out to make sure he doesn’t burn himself out.

Work front - really going well & learning new skills each day. Today I find out if I’ve got into the priority pool to get moved near home. Even if I get into pool it could be years before a post near home comes up. If I don’t get into the pool it’s still ok as I’m finally enjoying my job.

Money front - can’t wait to get pay slip tomorrow as I should get the last of my outstanding excess fares. I don’t have a clue how much this should be but hopefully £100 to put towards debt. Once this is up to date then the fares will be an extra £50 a month (if I’m in work) & from next Nov it goes up to £9 a day for 2 years.

Ok only 3 more stops on train to go so have fun today 😊
