Before you enter any comp ask yourself, What are my chances of winning this?. If there are 5k entrants - expect the worst. If there is at least one hoop to jump through (and believe me this narrows it down considerably) then you will be in with a chance.0

my tip would be only enter when it's fun, comping is meant to be a hobby it is taking part that is fun, chatting with other compers and the occasional win.0

Always thank the company for the prize received, if by email or social media I always thank the company as it's good manners.

I noticed someone had put not to make your email address obvious that it’s for comping so would you say rachcompacc@blahblah is too obvious?Newbie:

It's not too bad, and though it shouldn't make a difference, an email that gives nothing away might occasionally be wise. If it said scousemumrach82comps@blahblah we could deduce you were a female parent called Rachel, from Merseyside, aged 38 who always enters comps.0
