Luckily he is the one who squirrels away money all the time and has a bit of a buffer, so coupled with some uni funding, hopefully he should be ok. No idea how we are going to handle his nerves, he is not going to be able to ring me from China every time he leaves the uni as he does now when he goes out and about.
Could he text you instead?
And/or keep a recording of you talking to him in a similar situation?(I just lurve spiders!)

I've just ordered a new printer and am hoping it will be as easy to set up as PNs was recently.
Mine was easy .... it'd have been easier if I'd understood what the instructions meant. I'd never tried to attach something to the wireless router before, so the whole concept of pressing the button on it was alien to me - and then, I was hit by the double whammy of not being able to read the font on it because it was too small/colour contrast was poor and the router was awkwardly placed/plumbed in so I couldn't get up close to it.
I don't know why any engraved button on a black unit has to have the engraved area coloured in dark blue... !!!!!!'s wrong with WHITE ... and a bigger font0 -

In a similar vein, when checking the recycling number of plastics, particularly the ones inside plastic caps, they are not only white on white, (or self colour) but tiny weeny and inside!
Sometimes I've just had to give up and chuck it into the landfill rubbish, because I just can't see what it says, even in a bright light.(I just lurve spiders!)

I hate food packaging heating instructions - some are mustard print on a brown background... and blurred.
This may be life telling you that you've reached an age where you need to buy a magnifying glass. Congratulations. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

No it's not! I can see very well with my glasses on, and in a bright light it's even better.
If I had to resort to a magnifying glass, so would everybody else, whatever their age!
I'm not going to buy a magnifying glass just to look at plastic caps!
 I suppose I could look at them through my binoculars. :rotfl: :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

For proper close up work, I wear a pair of +3 reading glasses on top of my prescription glasses, and I then get out the magnifying glass. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I can remember when hifi devices had pretty much almost black titles on black buttons.
Hopefully the morons who thought that was clever have been prevented from putting catflaps on submarines and space stations and ejector seats on underground trains and airlocks on bicycles. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

It's mad. Still no slippers.
I wear the slippers all the time/every day. They were definitely on my feet while I was tidying up. When it's time to leave I am in the hallway and take my slippers off, hide them away, put my outdoor shoes on and leave the house. Therefore they MUST be in the cupboard under the stairs because that's where I always hide them when the agent's coming round AND because I always wear them AND because I am always in the hall when I take them off and put on my outdoor shoes.
Bet they're with the screwdriver0 -

My telly had a "touch button" in glossy black on a glossy black background for power on/off.
Since I found that it doesn't actually need direct contact from a fingertip, just close proximity of said finger, it now has a cut-off square from the sticky edge of a dreaded yellow sticky so I can see where the darned thing is.0
